First time mom to be, I am 29 years old looking for a Tricare authorized birth and postpartum doula. Baby will be born at Winchester Medical Center Virginia, and I need some assistance on making decisions as far as the birth plan and what is the best route for me and my baby.

If I am able to find a midwife then I’d really like to do a home birth but if that ends up not being an option I would like to hire a doula for a hospital birth. I had a c section in Sept of 2024 and want to try for a vbac this time around. I plan to give birth at Prince William hospital UVA. I would like to have a medicated vbac but would like to labor as long as possible without the epidural. I would like an experienced Doula with extensive vbac experience. My budget is around $1000

I plan to give birth at home or at a birthing center via a tub birth. I need a provider with a certification that meets Tricare's requirements, speaks English, and has at least a year of experience. I do not have a budget estimation but have seen that Tricare does cover a doula and a midwife. I have Tricare Reserve Select.

I plan on giving birth in a hospital. My budget is around $1500. My ideal birth plan, I want my husband in the room. I want to be able to walk around or be on a birthing ball. I want to try to have a natural birth but if I get to be in too much pain I want an epidural. This will be my second birth. I’m not opposed to an epidural.
