I am planning to give birth at home, in Dublin California. I’m mainly looking for a midwife and possibly a doula for support. I am planning to use my insurance at Kaiser for my scans up through the third trimester, and mainly want the midwife and possible doula team for delivery. I imagine visiting with them beforehand, but relying on my insurance for everything else leading up to delivery. This is our 2nd baby and we didn't have the best experience in the hospital during our first birth in 2019. Now that I'm pregnant at 40, we're looking for more of a natural experience, with less of the trauma. We have found a doula through this site and are now looking for a midwife to assist with home birthing. We're completely new to this idea, but are very open to it. My medical insurance is through Medi-Cal, specifically Anthem Blue Cross. I've noticed that providers within your company accept it, I'm just not sure to what extent considering this is my first time looking into this option.

I am having my first baby and I’m hoping to do an unmedicated water birth with little intervention as possible. I’m hoping to get support for myself during this pregnancy and for my birth where I feel my OB isn’t fully able to assist.
