About me

Hi, future family! My name is Tamiya Jerome, I am 27 years old and currently reside in Carlstadt NJ. I am happily married and a mother to two amazing littles! I have been a stay at home mom for the past 5 years and since my kids will be attending school, I’ve decided to continue to pursue my passion in childcare. A little more about me:- I was born and raised in South Africa, Durban. I graduated high school at Bechet High and studied Electrical Engineering for two years before becoming an Au Pair and moving to the US where I later married and became a mom. I have extensive childcare experience as I volunteered for multiple daycares in South Africa. I taught English to foreign learners in Johannesburg and baby-sat for many families back home aswell as in New Jersey. Whilst Au Pairing I also attended LIU where I completed courses in Early Childhood Development, Physical Cognitive and Psychosocial Development and an In-depth analysis of diverse learners. I was also a Math, English and Science tutor and ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED EVERY BIT OF IT! I have an undeniable love and passion for children and education and have ambitions of studying to be a Speech Pathologist. I specialize in childcare from Infants to teens. I am open to taking on the responsibilities of any household work that would be associated with the children, this being laundry, tidying and washing up etc. I also offer assistance with homework and assignments/studying if need be and basically everything pertaining to the child! I am a team player and willing to work alongside the parents to make for a successful, efficient and happy partnership!
