About me

Hi, I’m Vicki, a Birth and Postnatal Doula and founder of Roots & Wings Birthing, based in Gosport, Hampshire. I offer calm, compassionate and non-judgemental support throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. My approach is grounded in the belief that there is no single “right” way to give birth. I’m here to help you feel informed, heard and supported in the choices that feel right for you. My training is trauma-informed, and I aim to create a safe, reassuring space where you can ask questions, explore your options and feel more confident as you prepare for birth and parenthood. Whether you’re looking for birth preparation, continuous support during labour or a helping hand after your baby arrives, my support is centred around you and your individual needs.

Includes antenatal preparation, time to explore your birth preferences and choices, ongoing emotional support, on-call availability from 38–42 weeks, and continuous support throughout labour and birth. Postnatal support

Gentle, practical and emotional support as you settle into life with your new baby. Support is tailored to what you need and can include a listening ear, reassurance, light household tasks, preparing simple meals, caring for baby while you rest, and helping you find your feet as a new family. There’s no set agenda — we focus on what would support you most that day.

Complete journey

Complete support from pregnancy through birth and into the early postnatal weeks. Includes antenatal sessions, birth preparation, on-call support from 38–42 weeks, continuous support throughout labour and birth, a postnatal debrief and 18 hours of postnatal support. A reassuring, consistent presence throughout your journey.

When I gave birth to her younger brother, my daughter was just 14, but the support she gave me was beyond her years. She stayed close, held my hand, reminded me to breathe, and kept me focused when things felt overwhelming. She was calm, gentle, and completely present. I remember thinking at the time how extraordinary it was to see such maturity and compassion in someone so young.
