I plan to give birth at home with my midwife. I would like to find a birth & postpartum doula covered under Husky health. I’d like someone to help with pain relief and support during birth and then postpartum, some meals, light cleaning & just overall support for me.

Hi , I’m Marissa. I’m 25 years old and I’m due October 24th 2026. My husband and I are having a baby girl. I am interested having a doula through my Medicaid Insurance. I just really need the basics of just an extra advocate to be there in the hospital. I think it’s the smartest decision to have someone else besides my husband advocating for me if hospital gives me push back. I am planning to do an unmedicated birth , with free moving and switching positions. I believe if you are stressed and only allowed to be just on your back it doesn’t promote a smooth delivery. I really want to stick with my beliefs unless it’s a serious emergency . I want the experience to be as natural as possible unless it’s urgent.

I am looking for a doula who can prepare me physically and emotionally for labor and childbirth since I have always had some anxiety about the idea of labor. My budget is TBD. Our baby is due in August, and we would like help with, newborn care (bottle feeding, diaper changes, etc), lactation education, general household help (cleaning, cooking), and postpartum mom support. Night support would be great, but we are still deciding/are flexible. A bonus is someone trained in Traditional Chinese medicine, but not required.
