About me

Hello! My name is Alex Lanphear and I’m a birth doula based in Redmond, WA. I've been a caretaker and fiery activist since I could walk. I believe birth is the most magical thing in the world, and pride myself on being a guiding light for new families wanting to navigate the birthing path with confidence. I believe that parents deserve to feel the magic that empowered, informed birth can bring and strive to protect the peaceful, powerful energy of bringing a new life into the world. When I’m not with a family, I enjoy painting with watercolors, feeding the local crows, dancing under the moonlight and spending time with my cat.

My practice is built on active and reflective listening. (I like to say it's my superpower.) From the moment you hire me as your doula, I am dedicated to making sure that you are listened to, your needs are both acknowledged and met, and that I am facilitating the most effective possible team environment for you, your partner, your provider and myself. I will never skimp out on how you are feeling physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually at any given moment during your labor.

*All pricing is sliding scale, $1000 is just an example. *Applies to clients hiring at/after 37 weeks. On call at point of hire. Includes 1 Complimentary virtual Meet&Greet, 1 90-120 minute in-person Prenatal visit scheduled immediately after hiring, Assistance with creating birth plan, Relaxation techniques, Continual labor and birth support to 1-2 hours postpartum, and 1 Postpartum visit either in-person or virtual 2-5 days following birth.

Includes 1 Complimentary virtual Meet&Greet, 2 60-90 minute in-person Prenatal visits at 33 and 37 weeks, Assistance with creating birth plan, Relaxation techniques, Informational support, Photography as requested, Continual labor and birth support to 1-2 hours postpartum, and 1 postpartum visit 2-5 days following delivery.
