Hello! My name is Sydney and I am a full spectrum doula in Baltimore City! I attended Temple University, where I studied Anthropology with a concentration in human biology, and continued to live in Philadelphia for about three more years before moving to New York, and then back to my home state. In 2019, I started gaining an interest in birth work through my studies, and decided to volunteer with Baltimore Doula Project as an abortion doula and the Philadelphia Alliance for Labor Support (PALS) as a birth and postpartum doula. In 2022, I became a certified full-spectrum doula through Cornerstone Birthwork, and started taking my own clients independently. While in Philly and New York I attended 40+ births and served 20+ families during the postpartum period. That experience not only taught me the importance of understanding my health and my options, but it also deepened my trust in the Lord. My journey led me to work on a research team developing an intrauterine balloon stent to help treat Asherman’s Syndrome—a role that involved shadowing OB/GYNs and midwives and sparked a deeper appreciation for the science behind pregnancy and birth. I truly believe that birth is not only fascinating from a medical standpoint, but also incredibly beautiful and sacred.
