Danica Day Birth & Postpartum Doula in Frederick, MD

Danica was everything that we wanted and more for a doula, support person, and friend! My wife and I were extremely comfortable with Danica’s support the whole way, from meeting her and going over our birth plan, to all Day from 4Am on a Tuesday to 10pm the next Wednesday through labor, to the 6-week check up, night doula services, and the constant check in texts and calls, made our first child’s experience so much better. From 20 weeks pregnant, to our son being 10 weeks old, Danica was amazing. Her texts for check in always came at the right time, words of comfort and advice always made it easier to move forward in confidence and care for our little one. We loved that she never pushed us into something we weren’t comfortable with, but provided other options when it seemed like our plans and thoughts were getting to be too much. From the husbands perspective, during labor, Danica not only was there to support my wife through contractions, emotions, and tough physical situations, but also able to ask if I was doing well, hydrated, fed, and rested. She told me “your wife needs you here and I’m here to make sure that you are, you can’t pass out from dehydration, or not be in the right mind set, so I will take over here for a bit and you go get more water and take a breath.” This meant the world to me as the last thing I wanted to do was leave my wife’s side during the 20+hr labor, but she made us feel comfortable in knowing that she was there to cover to ensure i would be around longer, more capable, and in the zone. Danica was able to help with counter pressure, words of assurance, laboring positions, and another hand to hold for my wife and I through the entire labor. We didn’t sleep, and neither did she. After our son was born, and we opted for night doula help, it was a no-brainer to have her with us. We were able to negotiate hours through the night that would benefit mom, baby, and dad to optimize maximum rest, while maintaining general oversight over our child and “new parent anxieties”. She listened to our goals on establishing routines, helped us through challenges like the “witching hour”, and anxiety through producing enough milk while breastfeeding. Her help and advice still resonates with our childcare and parenting today, weeks after we’ve had her help. I cannot say and write enough about how much we loved having Danica along with us. If/when we have a sibling for our little guy, we will definitely be inquiring on whether Danica can come along for that journey. Danica is truly part of our family now and she should be part of yours!

I am currently a single dad with 3 children, ages 5,3, and newborn. Danica was a lifesaver when she was assisting me with the kids. She worked 12 hour shifts, 6p-6a. She exceeded my highest expectations with how she helped me set a better routine for my two oldest children, took care of the newborn throughout the night, and showed me some clean eating recipes that I plan on using regularly! She also did light housework which was always nice waking up to :). My children opened up to Danica right away, which was a big concern of mine. Their relationship with Danica gave me time to breathe and have a moment in my busy life to relax. I am so thankful I met Danica! She is so compassionate and caring not only of me but also my husband and daughters during my pregnancies and postpartum. I was an anxious mess during my pregnancy after a previous pregnancy loss and if it wasn't for Danica I would've struggled so much more with anxiety. She was always there to answer all my questions no matter how silly I felt they were. With her knowledge and compassion I was able to get through my pregnancy and actually enjoy it.
