About me

Hi, I’m Ali! A Philadelphia birth doula trained through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. My own births were the first healthcare experiences where I felt deeply listened to, respected, and trusted in my body, and that experience is a big part of what drew me to this work. I want the families I support to feel that same sense of dignity, confidence, and care - whatever their birth looks like. I believe there is no single right way to give birth. My role is to offer calm, compassionate, evidence-informed support, help you understand your options and communicate what matters to you, and stay steady as things unfold. Before becoming a doula, I spent more than a decade in international humanitarian and development work, which taught me a lot about listening, building trust, and staying grounded in uncertain situations. I’m also a parent of two young children and love spending time with my family, being outside, and traveling!

I offer personalized birth doula support for Philadelphia-area families, including prenatal preparation, continuous support through labor and birth, a postpartum visit, and birth photography when desired and circumstances allow. My care is calm, compassionate, and evidence-informed, with support shaped around your values and preferences. Before birth, we spend time getting to know one another, preparing for labor and postpartum, and talking through your questions and preferences. During labor, I offer a steady presence, hands-on comfort measures, practical support, and help with communication as needed. My goal is to help you feel informed, respected, and supported in your own voice, decisions, and strength.
