Difficulty latching and getting milk. I was able to collect colostrum the night of the C-section, but since then have not been able to hand express or collect.
I would like some help with pumping and nursing day and night scheduling. I plan to give birth at advent hospital in winter park in Orlando florida. I have had a c-section but I would like to this baby to be a vaginal birth if possible.
Sore possibly cracked nipple. Need a consultant to check latch is proper.
My baby breastfed the first few weeks with no issues latching but I was concerned she was not eating enough and hadn’t been gaining quite enough weight, so I switched to pumping. She is now 9 weeks old and I want to switch back to breastfeeding however she has become refusing the breast. She will occasionally latch for 5-10 minutes but more often than not she will latch for a few moments and then cry and scream and refuse. I am afraid she has an aversion now and don’t know what to do.
Looking for Doula who Specializes in supporting black mothers during the labor process.
Hi! I’m looking for a lactation consultant who can come to my home to observe a nursing session with my 10-day-old baby. I feel like she has been nursing fairly well—she is able to latch on both sides without much difficulty. However, at our recent pediatrician visit, she had not gained weight and is still at the same weight. The pediatrician is concerned that she may not be transferring milk effectively and recommended that I supplement by bottle-feeding what I collect using a Haakaa Ladybug. I truly would prefer to exclusively nurse if possible, but I’m worried she may not be getting enough milk during feeds. This morning, I pumped after nursing her on one side and was able to get a total of 4 ounces combined, and I also collected about 1 ounce from the Ladybug on the opposite side during the feeding. I do suspect that she may be falling asleep while nursing, which could be affecting her intake, even though I try to keep her awake and actively feeding. I would love support with a weighted feed (before and after nursing) if that’s something you offer, along with an evaluation of her latch, milk transfer, and overall feeding. Thank you so much!
