newborn breastfeeding concerns: painful latch, poor weight gain

Baby is having latching issues. I’m engorged and would prefer to not pump but I am because I want to make sure baby is fed.

I am a first time mother who wants to learn how to recover from birth while providing the best care for my baby. I’m easily overwhelmed and will need some help in postpartum. My mother will be present to help also. I’m interested in someone who is educated in traditional medicine with 5+ years of experience. Cooking and cleaning is a plus. Nighttime care would be great. I’m looking to spend no more than $1500/mo for 2 days per week of doula help.

Having issues with breastfeeding, concerned about low milk supply. Would like to boost my supply if possible.

I need help with breastfeeding, mostly latching the baby properly and making sure he’s getting the right amount and I’m not in pain while feeding him

I want help with my baby’s latch and to know how much he’s eating- I have no idea and it hurts really bad right now, but it can vary by feed. I want a consultant that will come to my home, speak English and/or Spanish and is covered by my insurance (Anthem BCBS). My baby will be 2 weeks tomorrow.

Im trying to exclusively breast pump but im not getting enough milk anymore to feed the baby. We are close to 4 weeks postpartum/1st month (06.16.2026 DOB). Im only getting less once on my left boob and less 2oz on my right boob. Baby is feeding 3oz minimum milk freding every 2, 3hours up to 4 hours. Depends on if I waited for her to get fuzzy or wake her up on time to feed. Im super tired and sometimes Ill set alarm and not wake-up until its 4 hours already. Baby weight loss is 18 percentile of her birthweight during her first visit 6days postpartum from latching. Combine with bleeding, blistering painful nipple pain and I can only last 15-20 mins each boob and sometimes less when I can’t tolerate pain. Bottle feeding her with breastmilk from day 7 up to 3 weeks helps with her weight gain. I had a big supply dip and im stressing about not getting anymore. pump every 3 hours (during the day I sometimes pump after 4-5 hours in one time because I sleep out, have to feed baby, do pump and bottle cleaning and all and just dont have time) I am very sleep deprived. Im going back to work in 3 weeks and I work 5 days 8 hours each plus driving time. I cant stock up milk just yet.

Help with Breastfeed so it doesn't hurt the nipple.

Right now I am exclusively pumping because my baby didn’t want to breast feed. He came early and was only 5 lbs so we didn’t want to overwhelm him or me. I have already gotten mastitis and having difficulty pumping and figuring out the right flange size.

We are expecting our first baby around November 24, 2026, and plan to deliver at The Baby Place in St. Petersburg. We are looking for a highly experienced, certified birth doula who has attended at least 50 births and is very comfortable supporting hospital deliveries. Tania is currently leaning toward having an epidural, but we want someone who can support her decisions without pushing a particular type of birth. We would prefer a doula who is calm and reassuring but can also be confident and assertive when appropriate. We want help understanding our options, communicating with the medical team, and making informed decisions if the birth does not go according to plan. As first-time parents, we are looking for guidance on how Jason can be an effective support person rather than being replaced by the doula. We would like someone who can help us determine the best division of roles during labor and adapt based on what Tania needs. We would like the package to include: • One or two prenatal planning meetings • Childbirth education or a birthing class • On-call availability around the due date • Continuous support throughout labor and delivery • At least one postpartum follow-up visit • Breastfeeding or lactation guidance, either directly or through a trusted referral Experience supporting first-time parents, anxiety during labor, epidurals, hospital interventions, efforts to avoid unnecessary interventions, unexpected C-sections, and early breastfeeding would be important to us. Spanish fluency would be helpful but is not required. We have not established a firm budget yet and would like candidates to provide their full pricing, services included, payment schedule, cancellation policy, backup-doula arrangement, and any additional costs.

I have a four month old daughter who is struggling to gain weight. We just started her on formula, but I’m looking to increase my supply so that I do not have to stop breast-feeding for good.
