I need a birth doula because I am not sure that my husband will be able to be there with me during the labor process. I feel like with my last labor experience it was mostly not a positive one and I felt steamrolled by the medical staff at times. I had a very inexperienced nurse and ended up [personal details hidden]. This time around (my last baby) I want to be as positive as possible. My husband may need to stay back with our other children and I dont want to have no support and no one to advocate for me when I am having contractions. I also dont want to be pushed into having an epidural so quickly as I feel like [personal details hidden]. I would like to try to make it further along in labor before deciding on an epidural so i have freedom to move around and reposition as i need to. I found out that my insurance covers Certified Doulas (Tricare Prime) and i will be giving birth at St Joseph South hospital. This is my 4th child and will be my 3rd VBAC. I have never had a doula before.

My last birth was a freebirth at home, i would prefer to have a medical team of some sort on hand for a homebirth this time. I am currently uncertain on a budget. I would like to plan a homebirth if pregnancy remains low risk. Labor in a quiet, calm environment. Dim lighting. Minimal unnecessary interruptions. Freedom to move, walk, squat, kneel, or change positions as desired. Access to water for comfort measures and possible waterbirth if appropriate. I would prefer non medication comfort measures first. Water immersion, position changes, breathing techniques, massage and counter pressure, and encouragement from support people/team. I would like to avoid unnecessary interventions when i and the baby are doing well. Informed consent before any non-emergency procedures. I would also like to have clear explanations of risks, benefits, and alternatives before decisions are made whenever possible. For delivery i want to be able to push according to my bodys urges rather than directed pushing if safe unless i ask otherwise . Freedom to choose birthing position. I want the baby on my chest immediately if both of us are stable. The golden hour is very important to me. I want delayed cord clamping. I want my partners involved in the delivery and cutting the cord. I would also like to deliver our placenta naturally if safe. I would like to initiate breastfeeding as soon as possible. Routine newborn procedures delayed until after bonding when medically appropriate. Keep mother and baby together whenever possible. Transfer to hospital if medically necessary. Preference for clear communication throughout any transfer. I would prefer a provider who is open minded to odd family dynamics and who has been practicing for at least 5-6 years. First time looking for a Doula, seeking support with birth and postpartum. I plan on giving birth at hospital but want to labor at home as long as possible. I have Humana as insurance so I’m looking to find someone who can provide the care needed through them. I would like to labor as natural as possible. If not relaxing enough to dilate I may resort to the epidural like I did with my first. Postpartum, possibly needing help with cooking as I have a toddler as well this postpartum experience. Hello, I’m looking for sleep training support for my son, who was born in August 2025. He wakes up frequently throughout the night and has become increasingly difficult to put to sleep. He doesn’t use a pacifier and relies on us patting him to fall asleep. When he wakes up, he cries and often wants to play rather than go back to sleep. My husband and I both work full-time, and we’re hoping to get professional guidance to help him learn to fall asleep independently and sleep through the night. We’re interested in the Ferber method, and I would strongly prefer in-person support at our home rather than virtual consultations.
