I'm a Houston birth doula, childbirth educator, and birth photographer — and after 10 years and more than 130 births, I can tell you with complete certainty: this work chose me just as much as I chose it. I'm a wife, a mom, and a Fulshear local who is genuinely, deeply invested in the families I serve. The moment you reach out, you're not just a client on my calendar — you're someone I'm going to show up for, advocate for, and think about long after your baby is in your arms. I started this work because I saw too many women walk out of their births feeling like something had happened to them instead of with them. I wanted to change that. Ten years later, that's still the whole point. Birth isn't one-size-fits-all, and it's not mine to decide how yours should go. My job is to make sure you walk in informed, supported, and confident enough to trust yourself — whatever that looks like for your family. You might be planning a medicated hospital birth. A VBAC. A home birth. A birth you're terrified of and hoping someone can help you get through. I've been there for all of it, and I'll meet you exactly where you are — without an agenda, without judgment, and without flinching. You can be scared. I'm not. - 10 years of birth work - 130+ births attended across Houston, Katy, Cypress, Fulshear, and surrounding areas - Certified birth doula and childbirth educator - Hospital-experienced at Houston Methodist West, Memorial Hermann Katy, The Women's Hospital of Texas, and Methodist Willowbrook, Methodist Medical Center, Texas Children’s, and more.

We hired Alysa for the birth of our first child, and I truly cannot imagine going through the experience without her. When I got pregnant, neither my husband nor I knew the first thing about pregnancy, labor, birth plans, or caring for a newborn. After a few OB appointments, a friend asked me what my birth plan was, and I had no idea what she was talking about. Thankfully, she had worked with Alysa and referred us to her. While we liked my doctor, we quickly realized we weren’t getting much education about labor, delivery, or the options available to us. Alysa completely filled that gap. During pregnancy, she met with us for six educational sessions that prepared us for what was happening with my body, what our birth options were, and the pros and cons of each. She never pushed an agenda and was incredibly supportive of whatever birth experience we wanted, whether that meant a planned induction, an unmedicated birth, or anything in between. When labor started, Alysa came to the hospital at 3am and stayed right by my side, supporting me in every way I needed until our daughter arrived safely. One of the things I appreciated most was that her support didn’t end after birth. She also provides three postpartum visits that you can schedule however you need them, whether that’s help with the baby, getting questions answered, taking a nap, or even enjoying your first date night as new parents. My birth experience was nothing short of amazing, and I give so much credit to Alysa for helping me feel informed, empowered, and confident as a new mother. She didn’t just support me through labor, she helped prepare both of us for parenthood. Thank you, Alysa. We are forever grateful for you.

Highly Recommend Thalia – An Amazing Birth Doula! I had the absolute privilege of having Thalia as my birth doula, and I cannot recommend her enough! Despite being based in Houston, TX, she traveled all the way to Los Angeles to support me during my birth, and her presence made all the difference. From our very first consultation, I knew I was in good hands. Thalia was incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and attentive to my needs, both emotionally and physically. She took the time to understand my birth preferences and offered valuable support and guidance every step of the way. On the big day, she was a calm and reassuring presence, providing me with comfort, strength, and encouragement. Her support allowed me to have a positive and empowered birth experience. I truly believe that having Thalia by my side helped me achieve the birth I had hoped for. If you're looking for a professional, caring, and dedicated doula who goes above and beyond, look no further. I am forever grateful for her support and highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and supportive birth doula. Thank you again, Thalia! You made a huge impact on my birth experience, and I’ll always be thankful for you!

Peace! I am Briana Nicol Venters. I am a child of The Most High, a wife to the greatest man I know and a mother to a sweet and spicy baby boy. I have been sharing my labor of Love as a full circle birth worker both locally and internationally since 2018. Prior to Doula work, I spent numerous years providing child care & offering my gift as a certified stretch therapy instructor. When I am not serving birthing people and their families, you can find me reading, cooking, writing, roller skating and spending lots of quality time with my Loved ones. I enjoy nature and have a great appreciation for all things holistic and untampered with. My approach to Doula/birth work is to educate and serve. I am committed to advocating for and assisting birthing people and their villages by ensuring that my clients have the necessary tools to birth with confidence and the ability to advocate and make empowering educated decisions for themselves. It has been most rewarding to be involved in such intimate experiences and holding space for women while they are in some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. I strongly believe that the way we prepare ourselves determines our next steps. I have made it my mission to ensure that every birthing person and their families are fully prepared by being supported every step of the way throughout their prenatal, labor and postpartum journey. I know for a fact that I was created for this work and I look forward to continuing to share myself with the birthing community!

My name is Laporcha Foster most people call me LaLa. I am from Houston, Texas and I am a mother to 4 beautiful souls (3 girls and 1 boy). I am a traveling birth/postpartum doula who is also an end of life doula (helping others transition over to the after life). I became a doula after realizing nursing school wasn’t for me. I wanted to be a L&D nurse then a Nurse Practitioner so I could deliver babies. One day I was talking to my spiritual coach who told me my ancestors told her I was a medicine healing lady, and my life purpose was to be a midwife. I never thought to be one even though I heard so many people talked about having midwives and doula when I was pregnant with my son. I decided to do some research and I fell in love with the results and became a certified trained birth/postpartum doula through Madriella Doula Network. Being other women and families support system is my top priority. Rather it’s in a home, birthing center, or hospital I’m there! I am now attending a midwifery program at Midwives College of Utah (MCU) and trusting the process of this new journey. I look forward to meeting with you and vibing off good and positive energy. Peace and blessings!

Having Ms.Foster as my doula was truly life changing and amazing. She became my sister overnight literally; she came in with so much love, kindness and joy for what she's set out to do. Her light coming in helped me TRULY calm down and start enjoying my pregnancy experience. I truly recommend any and everyone to definitely have Ms. Foster for their doula.
