have been a doula since 2007 and have had the opportunity to attend a variety of births including medicated, non-medicated, multiples, VBAC’s and home-births. I use many tools to help a woman cope in labor including massage, pressure points, movement, aromatherapy and I am trained in using a TENS unit and have units that I let my clients use for their labor. I love teaching some of the tricks I have learned over the years to the dad and helping him feel a part of the birth. My goal is for the mom and dad to feel like “WE did it” as they hold their sweet baby. I feel passionate about a woman’s power and ability to have the kind of birth experience she longs for. Birth is a beautiful, powerful and natural event. I believe that during labor, a mom needs to surround herself with people that believe in her ability and trust her body and I am always honored when chosen to be a part of that team. I have been a registered nurse specializing in perinatal care since 1990. In 2015, I became an IBCLC and began working full-time as an inpatient lactation consultant. In 2019, I expanded my skills by studying craniosacral therapy under Carol Gray. Over time, I integrated craniosacral therapy and lactation consulting at the Recovery Lounge while interning with Amanda Glenn, gradually preparing for retirement from my hospital position. In May 2024, I retired and shifted my focus to the Recovery Lounge and Spa, where I now combine lactation consulting with infant craniosacral therapy, as the two practices complement each other to foster a more joyful breastfeeding experience.
