About me

Hi, I’m Bria, the doula behind Anthea Doula Care. I support families as they prepare for one of life’s most powerful transitions! My goal is to help you and your partner feel informed, calm, and deeply supported throughout pregnancy, labor, and early postpartum. I believe everyone should feel like someone is in their corner. I will be there just for you, no one else. I have been interested in becoming a doula for a long time. Since high school, I thought about becoming a midwife, however my life did not go in that direction. I met my husband, Dennis, in 2011. He was in the military, and we moved around often. After having kids of my own in 2020, I knew I wanted to be a birth worker. I, personally, had a hard time adjusting to becoming a mom and I would love to support anyone going through this journey. I did not have a doula for either of my births, but I could have used one. My first birth experience was fast and I thought I knew what to expect, I did not! It was a shock, and I needed someone who knew what was happening and what was a normal part of labor. I needed someone to tell me to relax and exhale. My second birth was also fast, but my breathing was under control and it made the biggest difference. I will be there with you through it all and we’ll exhale, together.

Bria was such a wonderful postpartum doula! She provided great emotional support during those early weeks and was always willing to help with light household cleaning, which made such a difference. Most importantly, my baby was very comfortable with her, which gave me so much peace of mind. I’m so grateful for the support and care she provided during such an important season for our family! I recommend her to any family looking for support:)
