Since high school, I thought about becoming a midwife, however my life did not go in that direction. I met my husband, Dennis, in 2011. He was in the military, and we moved around often. After having kids of my own in 2020, I knew I wanted to be a birth worker. I, personally, had a hard time adjusting to becoming a mom and I would love to support anyone going through this journey. I did not have a doula for either of my births, but I could have used one. My first birth experience was fast and I thought I knew what to expect, I did not! It was a shock, and I needed someone who knew what was happening and what was a normal part of labor. I needed someone to tell me to relax and exhale. My second birth was also fast, but my breathing was under control and it made the biggest difference. I will be there with you through it all and we’ll exhale, together.

I served in the Army as a medic and worked as a civilian ski patroller for many years before starting my own family. I have a long-standing love for fitness, travel and the outdoors. My name is Carisa Niemyer and I work as a doula and doula trainer in Colorado SpringsI found my way into doula work through the birth of my first child. My story didn't go exactly how I wanted and my baby had her own story of how she wanted to be born, as these babes often do. Hi there- I’m Emma, birth doula, wife, and mama to two little girls who I birthed at birth center. With my first baby, I was lovingly doula’d for a long, 76 hour labor, and afterwards knew that birth work was 100% what I was called to do. I received my certification through Childbirth International in 2023 and have attended labors at home, birth center and hospital. My days are spent playing outside with my family, running the meals ministry at our church, and making way too much sourdough.
