The mother of seven, one in heaven, new grandma to 3 precious babies Six of my seven babies were born at home, the seventh, and final we opted for an unmedicated hospital birth where I served as my own doula. I am experienced in home, hospital and birth center births. I am skilled at supporting moms in whatever environment they choose. I have been training with my own Midwife for over 35 years and have a vast array of skills and knowledge. Helping to support mothers in birth and assist in ushering in these precious little ones is my calling and divine passion. I served in the Army as a medic and worked as a civilian ski patroller for many years before starting my own family. I have a long-standing love for fitness, travel and the outdoors. Aside from a passion for helping families in their birth and postpartum journeys, I strive to make a difference in my community. I am the proud wife of a soldier, and I am a mother. I have a little boy, twin girls and a pup. My pregnancy and births led me to be passionate about closing the gap in modern healthcare and putting the power of birth back into the hands of parents. Since high school, I thought about becoming a midwife, however my life did not go in that direction. I met my husband, Dennis, in 2011. He was in the military, and we moved around often. After having kids of my own in 2020, I knew I wanted to be a birth worker. I, personally, had a hard time adjusting to becoming a mom and I would love to support anyone going through this journey. I did not have a doula for either of my births, but I could have used one. My first birth experience was fast and I thought I knew what to expect, I did not! I studied evolutionary biology as a young adult and was planning a career shift into healthcare at the time that I became pregnant with my first child. I knew then that my background in evolutionary biology and health sciences had come together just so that I could support pregnant, laboring, and postpartum parents. My story didn't go exactly how I wanted and my baby had her own story of how she wanted to be born, as these babes often do. Hi there- I’m Emma, birth doula, wife, and mama to two little girls who I birthed at birth center. With my first baby, I was lovingly doula’d for a long, 76 hour labor, and afterwards knew that birth work was 100% what I was called to do. I received my certification through Childbirth International in 2023 and have attended labors at home, birth center and hospital. My days are spent playing outside with my family, running the meals ministry at our church, and making way too much sourdough.
