About me

Hi, I’m Christina Nurse. Doula. Educator. RYT 200. Mother. Air Force Veteran. And a lifelong student of the sacred unfolding of birth. I believe birth is a threshold—a place where time softens, the soul speaks, and the body remembers how to open. My journey began in the hospital, serving birthing people as a labor and postpartum nurse. There, I witnessed both the strength of the human spirit and the ways modern care can overlook the deeper layers of the birthing experience—the heart, the spirit… the knowing. What I longed to offer was more than clinical care. I wanted to blend evidence-based practice with intuition—to hold space for both the science and the soul of birth. So I stepped out of sterile rooms and into the sacred work of bridging that gap—and founded Nest & Soul. Text 719-370-9335 to connect!

Christina was my doula for my third birth and I am beyond happy with the care she provided my baby and myself before, during and after my delivery. After having a traumatic birth experience with my second, I knew I wanted to hire a doula as extra support for my third birth. Christina met and exceeded all of my expectations: she gave me tools to mentally prepare for my third birth that lead to me having my most beautiful birth yet. I especially loved that she wasn’t negative towards me getting an induction when it became medically necessary, and she supported me every step of the way. Her education and additional certifications provided me with information and options that I believe prevented unnecessary interventions. She is not only extremely wise, but also professional and kind. I’m so happy I made the decision to have her as my doula, and I will be recommending her to everyone I know!

Christina was absolutely incredible to work with. From the very beginning, it was clear how much time, care, and thought she puts into every interaction. She consistently went the extra mile to make herself available and ensure we felt supported throughout the process. What stood out most was how empowered and heard she made us feel. She created a space where we could ask questions openly, and she took the time to provide thoughtful, informative answers without ever making us feel rushed. Her knowledge and ability to communicate it in a clear, reassuring way made a huge difference for us. You can tell Christina is truly passionate about what she does, and that shows in the way she connects with and supports the people she works with. We’re incredibly grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, caring, and intentional prenatal resource.

Christina is a true wealth of knowledge and a fierce advocate for her clients. As a pelvic floor physical therapist, I deeply understand the importance of having a skilled, grounded doula on your birth team—and I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend Nest & Soul. Her background as a Labor & Delivery nurse clearly guides her ability to understand the progression of labor and thoughtfully navigate the recommendations that arise along the way. Even more importantly, her advocacy allows her to help clients stay aligned with their optimal birth plan—not someone else’s agenda. Every time I see Christina, she’s studying something new, which gives me full confidence that her recommendations are evidence-informed. Yet what stands out most is that her top priority is always agency and empowerment—supporting people in having a birth experience that feels right for them. Don’t hesitate to choose Christina as your go-to for doula services or postpartum lactation support. And as a bonus: she always shows up with a genuine smile. 💛

There is no way I could possibly express how incredible our experience working with Christina as our Doula has been. This is absolutely her calling and we were very blessed to have her on our side! She is knowledgeable, kind, considerate, helpful, and all around just a positive force for good in the realm of childbirth. When I say our birth experience wouldn't be the same without her, I mean it. Prior to delivery, she provided incredible support and resources that we were able to reference before and during labor. Christina met with us numerous times, listened to our concerns, questions, and wants and provided valuable feedback and support. Furthermore, the written material is presented in an easy to digest way and packed with helpful, succinct information that we referenced often during our hospital stay. Additionally, the provided birth plan was easy to follow and the hospital staff LOVED it (and, in my experience, getting the hospital staff to read your birth plan is half the battle). Our labor didn't go as expected, but Christina was there the whole time (well over 24 hours of labor) and was an invaluable resource, especially during the tougher moments of labor. She was there when we needed her most, with hands on support for my wife (labor positions, massage, counter-pressure, and various remedies for issues and comfort), a hug during a tough moment, or an encouraging word. When presented with hard decisions, she provided insight into our options and empowered us to make wise decisions about mom and baby's health. We are so lucky to have had Christina's support throughout my wife's pregnancy and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for an incredible Doula!

From the moment Christina walked into our room-everything changed. Her presence was gentle, grounding, and deeply reassuring in a moment when we felt vulnerable and overwhelmed. As both a doula and an experienced nurse, she brought a combination of calm compassion and clinical confidence that made an immeasurable difference in the birth of our first child. We are first time parents and baby boy came two weeks early. Upon our arrival at the hospital. We were met by a particularly unfriendly and unprofessional triage nurse who struggled to perform a proper cervical check because I was tense and in pain (first time mom and labor in general can do that). She dismissed my very real signs of active labor, recommended that we leave and return later, and made me feel unheard at a moment when I most needed care. I was getting very upset in what was already a physically and mentally shocking situation. When Christina arrived, she immediately stepped in with calm authority. She coached both me and the NURSE! She adjusted my position, placed a towel under my lower back, and guided my breathing. Within moments-what do you know- was accurately assessed at 4–5 cm and wheeled into labor and delivery within two minutes. As apart of my birth plan, I wanted to go unmedicated for as long as possible. Christina’s breath coaching alone completely transformed my natural labor experience. When contractions intensified, she anchored me-helping me breathe with intention instead of fear. Because of her, labor felt purposeful rather than chaotic. We never felt alone or unsure; she made sure we understood our options and felt supported every step of the way. She was also incredibly supportive and flexible as my birth plan evolved. When I ultimately chose to receive an epidural (about 7-8cm), she met that change without judgment—only reassurance and continued support. Her focus was always on me feeling safe, informed, and respected. I choose to labor down when I got to 10cm and baby was in a good position. Christina and the head nurse (who was lovely), helped me move into several positions till I found the one that was most comfortable. With my husband's hands one side and Christina's hands on the other, I was supported by the best people I could have had in that space to welcome our son into the world. Christina helped guide my pushes (having taught me how earlier) and my husband counted me down. It was amazing and I could not have imagined how integral she would be in that moment. It's really quite challenging to put into words 🥹. Her lactation support, in particular, was also invaluable. Very soon after birth someone was assigned to help me latch my son for the first time. It was really painful and when I expressed "That really hurts. Is it supposed to hurt like this?" -the nurse responded with "That's breastfeeding.", took off her gloves and walked out of the room. Christina was literally by my side and immediately offered correction. With kindness and clarity, she validated my discomfort, corrected the latch, explained what was happening, and made me feel supported. I truly credit her guidance with my strong milk supply and the smooth, positive breastfeeding journey I now get to experience with my son. I am endlessly grateful for that. Beyond labor, Christina’s care extended into preparing my body and our home for postpartum recovery. She provided thoughtful, evidence-based advice and research, answered every question my husband and I had, and helped us feel confident heading into the next chapter. With 100% certainty, we will be requesting Christina again for our next childbirth experience. She is a true blessing to any family lucky enough to work with her.

My wife and I worked with Christina during our prenatal care and labor, and she was incredible. Her presence alone brought a sense of calm and she immediately made my wife feel safe and supported. She knows her field extremely well and there were times she understood what was happening before the nurses or even the doctors. She explained everything clearly and always made sure we understood our options. Christina anticipated my wife’s needs, guided us through every stage, and kept her comfortable and confident the entire time. Her care, knowledge, and steady support turned a stressful experience into something positive. We could not have asked for anyone better.
