Brianna, originally from Las Vegas, NV, embarked on her educational journey towards becoming a midwife when she moved to Santa Barbara in 2015. There she studied and earned her BS in Psychology. In 2017, she attended a DONA doula training, a pivotal step in her commitment to supporting women during labor. As a student, Brianna volunteered at a local maternity home, offering prenatal nutrition classes and doula services. In 2019, she expanded her impact by volunteering with AmeriCorps as a Community Health Worker in Southern Utah, addressing social determinants of health. This experience underscored the strength of community and the importance of continuity of care. After completing her 12-month term, Brianna moved to San Diego to attend Midwifery school and commenced her clinical placement with San Diego Midwife in 2020. As a midwife, Brianna blends her foundation in psychology with specialized midwifery training, emphasizing a compassionate and empathetic approach. Her dedication extends to providing holistic care throughout the prenatal, labor, and postpartum phases, emphasizing both the physical and emotional well-being of mothers. Brianna is ardent about empowering women and ensuring that each birthing experience is a medically sound and emotionally enriching journey. In 2025, Brianna expanded her scope of care by becoming an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), deepening her commitment to supporting families in the critical postpartum period. Outside of midwifery, Brianna finds joy in traveling to Mexico and exploring new destinations, often connecting with local midwives and birth workers. She has found herself grounded living in Cardiff enjoying beach days, practicing yoga, and hiking with her dog, Itzli.

Brianna has been incredibly helpful in my journey to feeding my child. From breast-feeding, to proper latch, to weight gain, to finding and changing formulas, then fully weaning my child… She has been there alongside me, helping me be the best version of myself. She has the most kind and supportive demeanor. Although I started off feeling a lot of frustration on my feeding journey because I couldn’t breast feed how I wanted, I’ve only ever felt my baby and I were supportsd loved and cared for by Brianna. Ultimately we developed the perfect latch for my son and the perfect milk supply. I never got mastitis once even while I was weaning him and drying up milk. I’m so grateful I had Brianna to help me navigate my feeding journey because it went so smoothly! I also used her night nanny services and she and her team were outstanding in supporting me a few days a week to give me a little time to myself and give me tips and tricks for navigating the newborn stage at night! Thank you so much Brianna, I’m a better version of myself because of your support!

Brianna has been so amazing! When I first met with Brianna I was very stressed about my milk supply and my son refused to take a bottle. She was able to reassure me and give me the confidence and knowledge to get my milk supply on track. She also instantly noticed my son’s tongue and lip tie and gave me options to fix the problem. Additionally she gives great detailed recap emails after each visit with step by step directions to keep me on track. Mama and baby boy are very happy! Thank you Brianna!

I truly cannot say enough good things about Brianna, IBCLC. From the moment she walked into my home, she made me feel calm, supported, and completely at ease during such an emotional postpartum season. Breastfeeding felt overwhelming at first, and Brianna helped me work through my baby’s latch and nursing challenges with so much patience, kindness, and care. She is incredibly knowledgeable, but even more than that, she is deeply kind. Her bedside manner is gentle, reassuring, and compassionate, and she always made me feel heard and supported. Knowing I could reach out to her with questions or schedule time when I needed help meant everything. She has been an invaluable resource and truly feels like a trusted friend. I am so grateful for her and would recommend her to any parent looking for breastfeeding and lactation support.

Working with Brianna Joy was truly life changing for our family. After my son spent 8 days in the NICU, he got so used to bottle feeding that I couldn’t get him to latch no matter what I tried. I was pumping what felt like a hundred times a day and getting emotional every time we failed to latch. From the very first visit, Brianna was amazing. She immediately noticed he had a lip tie, helped us find bottles that were closer to the breast, and showed us how to use a nipple shield and different positions that worked better for his tension. She was so knowledgeable and patient, always coming prepared and somehow having an answer for every single question we had. Within just a couple of weeks, we went from not being able to latch at all to exclusively breastfeeding, something I honestly didn’t think would ever happen. Brianna completely changed our newborn experience and I can’t thank her enough for the support, encouragement, and care she gave us. If you’re struggling with feeding in any way, do not hesitate to reach out to Brianna!

I had such a great experience with Briana! She came to our home a few days after birth and immediately made me feel comfortable and supported. She took her time checking baby’s latch and weight, helped me understand what was going on engorgement and clogged ducts, gave me simple, realistic steps to move forward and created a personalized breastfeeding plan for me. She explained everything in a way that actually made sense and didn’t make me feel overwhelmed. You can tell she truly cares about the families she works with. I left the visit feeling relieved, confident, and so much more prepared. Highly recommend her to any new mom looking for thoughtful, evidence-based lactation support.
