Bridget is the founder and owner of Abundant Joy. With a passion for working with and advocating for people of all ages and backgrounds, she has taught in the public school system, assisted in resettling refugees, counseled trafficked women, and has worked to raise well-rounded, healthy children in her role as a professional nanny. With over 21 years of experience caring for children and providing education and support to the parents she worked alongside, many of Bridget’s close friends requested her support during their birth. Bridget was often asked to stay overnight to provide friends with her steady, upbeat, and positive presence–in their living room or in a hospital room. These long nights allowed her to listen to the birthing mamas, help them sort out what their goals and options were, and allowed Bridget to advocate for them to make sure they felt comfortable and had their needs met. Bridget has found that women have more positive birth outcomes when a doula is present throughout labor and delivery. These experiences made it clear to Bridget that her talents and passion lie in doula work. Birth is unpredictable by nature, and Bridget has worked with single moms, families, and teams of medical professionals in order to help parents to be present in the moment. Incorporating the baby’s father throughout the entire process leads to a successful team effort where both mom and dad feel connected to the baby–from the very beginning to the birth. She believes that women can feel confident and empowered during their birth experiences with the right kind of unbiased support and knowledge. Bridget provides guidance through evidence-based education, as well as encouragement and compassion throughout the birth journey. From her varied and deep experiences working with parents and their children, Bridget is adept at helping parents navigate postpartum schedules and transitions. She also assists the mother with her newborn as she heals and adapts to life with a new baby. Looking forward to being a part of your joyful birth! Bridget has extensive experience supporting families in hospitals, birth centers, and home births. She is skilled in supporting mothers with Vaginal Births, VBACS, Cesareans, high-risk pregnancies, stillbirths, and twin births. "The joy of the Lord is my strength." Nehemiah 8:10

We are beyond happy and grateful for Bridget’s dula services. We are first time parents and had no idea what to expect during the birth of our daughter. Bridget provides information and techniques on how to manage labor. She made us feel safe and heard. We had an amazing experience with our team Seven Oaks women’s center at Methodist Hospital who Bridget recommended. Without her knowledge and recommendations we may have not had such a great experience.

Bridget was amazing! She supported me through labor with calm and care, ensuring my birth plan and preferences were respected. I felt heard, safe, and empowered the whole time. Her postpartum support was also incredible, making those first days so much easier. Bridget shows up with her whole heart, and having her by my side made an unforgettable difference in my birth and postpartum experience.

Bridget with Abundant Joy Doula Services was my doula for my first pregnancy, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her support. She truly listened to and understood my goals throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. During labor, she was my cheerleader—offering extra comfort, coaching, and encouragement exactly when I needed it most. Her guidance and presence made all the difference, and she continued to be a source of support even after my baby arrived. I highly recommend Bridget to anyone seeking extra education, advocacy, and emotional support on their journey to welcoming a baby into the world.

Bridget is amazing! She is so sweet and helpful and made me feel so confident in my birth plan! My labor ended up progressing so quickly that we had an unplanned home birth and didn’t ask Bridget to come until it was too late for her to make it in time, but she still raced to our house at midnight during a storm and ended up arriving right after baby was born. I wish we could have had her there for the birth, but she was so helpful on the phone while I was having contractions and coaching us through what we should do. I would definitely use her again if we decide to have another baby!

My husband and I were so grateful to have Bridget along for the ride of my first pregnancy/birth. Her prenatal classes were informative and helped us feel confident and ready for labor and delivery. I was so thankful to have her in our corner during the birth of my son. Her knowledge of labor positions and pain management techniques helped my time in labor feel less scary. Throughout my pregnancy and the postpartum period, Bridget was available to answer questions and point me to resources that made my transition to motherhood a little bit easier. I would recommend Bridget to anyone who is looking for more support in their pregnancy and labor.

Bridget was truly the greatest gift during my birth experience. I labored for several days with an OP (sunny-side-up) baby, and I genuinely believe that if it weren’t for her guidance, I may have ended up needing a c-section. Bridget recommended birthing positions that helped my baby flip, and after so much hard work, I was able to have the vaginal birth I had hoped for. Throughout my long labor, Bridget made me feel safe, informed, and deeply supported. She stayed the night at our apartment when I needed her most, and even danced around our kitchen with my whole family (including our dog) in an effort to help my labor progress. The way she supported not only me, but my husband too, was so beautiful. Now, over a year later, I still think about how Bridget showed up for us during one of the most important moments of our lives. Her steady, compassionate presence made all the difference. I truly cannot imagine my birth without her, and I would (and often do) recommend Bridget to absolutely anyone looking for a doula who will bring her full heart, expertise, and joy to your birth journey.

Bridget was my doula for my VBAC and I know her support was crucial in getting my dream labor/birth. I specifically chose Bridget because she has so much experience with VBAC moms and knew I needed someone who understood the added hurdles having a pervious cesarean birth could cause. I labored a long time at home and Bridget was there the whole way helping to ease pain and providing knowledge on when it was time to go to the birth center. We couldn’t have done it without her as part of our team and feel so thankful for her! If you’re attempting a vbac definitely consider having her as part of your team! Bridget was also super helpful postpartum when I had issues breastfeeding the first few days and even networked to got donor milk for me. She is very communicative and goes above and beyond for her clients. THANK YOU Bridget !

I cannot thank Bridget enough for her help with the birth of our son! My previous births were a C-section and medicated VBAC. I always wanted to try a natural birth but was afraid of all of the unknowns and pain of course. My OB recommended Bridget and hiring her was the best decision! She explained exactly what to expect, as well as stages of labor, etc. to help you feel prepared. She checked in on my frequently throughout pregnancy and provided helpful tips. When the time came she was prompt to meet us at the hospital. Bridget walked me through labor, anticipating my needs before I even knew what they were. She seemed to always be a step ahead. She was so prepared, encouraging, and ultimately I don’t think I could have done it without her. So grateful for her!
