Hi, I’m Priya, founder of Ashwariya Ayurveda and Maternal & Newborn Concierge™**. I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Nutritionist, Certified Birth Doula, Lactation Consultant, Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, and Lamaze® Childbirth Educator. After a career in finance that included Goldman Sachs and fidessa, I stepped away to raise my three children. That chapter shaped my purpose: to be the person other parents can rely on to help them thrive in their careers and family lives. Since 1997, I have cared for more than 300 babies, including twins, premature infants, and NICU graduates. My experience spans birth support, newborn care, complex feeding journeys, postpartum recovery, and childhood sleep. Each family has strengthened my commitment to care that supports both children and their parents. Your mental health is a priority in my care; I make space for honest conversations about exhaustion, overwhelm, identity, and the emotional adjustments of parenthood. Together, we create realistic feeding, sleep, and recovery plans that respect your needs and capacity. When additional support is needed, I help connect families with licensed mental health professionals. My personalized services include: - **Birth preparation and support:** Lamaze® education, Spinning Babies® and Body Ready Method® techniques, comfort measures, partner preparation, and advocacy for your preferences. - **Postpartum recovery:** Ayurvedic nourishment, belly binding, restorative bodywork, and attentive care during the fourth trimester. - **Lactation and feeding:** Weighted feeds, breastfeeding support, pumping and flange guidance, combination feeding, bottle selection, and return-to-work planning. - **Newborn and overnight care:** Experienced support that creates opportunities for rest, recovery, and confidence in caring for your baby. - **Pediatric sleep and development:** Gentle, individualized guidance from infancy through early childhood, including support for neurodivergent children. - **Family nutrition:** Nourishing meal plans tailored to your preferences, routines, and stage of life. The Best Support We Could Have Asked For! We had the immense blessing of working with Priya for both labor/delivery and postpartum care, and I can confidently say she was one of the greatest gifts of our entire journey into parenthood. As first-time parents, the transition can feel overwhelming, but her presence brought comfort, confidence, and so much peace into our home. From the very first moment, she was gentle, knowledgeable, and incredibly nurturing. Her care is rooted in deep Ayurvedic wisdom, and she combines it beautifully with modern newborn support. She went above and beyond in every way. ✨ Labor & Delivery Support Having her with me during labor and delivery made all the difference. She was calm, encouraging, and present through every contraction and every moment of uncertainty. Her guidance helped me stay mentally strong and physically supported. I truly don’t know how I would have done it without her. ✨ Newborn Care She cared for our baby with so much love — from Ayurvedic oil massages, creating gentle daily routines, helping with gas/colic relief, and supporting healthy sleep patterns. Every single thing was done so thoughtfully and respectfully. ✨ Postpartum Recovery For Me She didn’t just help with the baby — she took care of me as a mother: - Ayurvedic belly binding for core support - Warm oil massages - Herbal teas and foods that supported healing and milk production - Emotional and mental support on days I needed it most She made sure I rested, nourished my body, and felt seen and cared for — something every new mother deserves. ✨ Food & Meals Her freshly prepared Ayurvedic meals were amazing. Everything was warm, nourishing, and made to help my body recover and build strength. You can tell she puts her heart into every part of her work. ✨ Family Support She guided my husband, helped us understand newborn cues, and even shared tips that made our whole home more peaceful and soothing for the baby. Her knowledge is priceless. If you are considering Ayurvedic newborn care or postpartum support, don’t think twice. She is truly gifted at what she does. She combines expertise, intuition, and compassion in a way that is rare to find. We felt protected, encouraged, and cared for every single day. We absolutely love her and are so grateful for everything she brought into our lives. She will always be a special part of our birth and postpartum story. ❤️

We had a wonderful experience working with Breana for six weeks after our baby arrived. As first-time parents, we especially appreciated her knowledge and guidance on everything from formula preparation and feeding to understanding our baby's cues and everyday newborn care. She was reliable, communicative, and always punctual, and we felt completely comfortable trusting her with our baby. Her support brought a sense of calm to what could have otherwise been an overwhelming first few weeks. We're incredibly grateful for her care and couldn't have imagined navigating those early weeks without her!

Chandel is a gem! She was communicative from the start, and went the extra mile when it came to insurance verification, which is usually an annoying process. She was such a calming and supportive presence during those overwhelming first few weeks with our newborn. Her steady reassurance, patience, and kindness made a huge difference for our family during a challenging transition. We felt genuinely cared for and supported every step of the way.

Donneta was the best decision we made as a family! As new parents, it was incredibly important to have a newborn care specialist who was very professional and experienced. As a pediatrician training in allergy and immunology, safety was my number one priority and Donneta has far surpassed my expectations. She is dedicated to ensuring my baby and I are very well taken care of. She does all of his laundry, bottle and pump part prep, tidying the house and is overall a very respectful house guest. She is very clean and respectful of our space. I cannot imagine hiring anyone else during this vulnerable time. She is part of our family now.

Jen Ballew Popular: among the most-viewed doulas in New York, last 60 days

Responds within a few hours

I'm Jen Ballew, a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator and pediatric sleep coach and the founder of The Parenthood Project USA. For over a decade I've helped exhausted families find real, sustainable rest, supporting more than 250 families along the way. My approach to sleep is warm, biology-first, and led by your child's nervous system, never cry-it-out or leaving a baby to cry alone. I work with everything from newborn sleep shaping in the early weeks to responsive coaching for older babies and toddlers, always building rhythms that fit your family rather than forcing a rigid method or anything not developmentally appropriate. My practice began in Southern California, where I spent ten years supporting local families through birth, postpartum, and sleep. Today the work is nationwide and fully virtual, and I'm expanding in person into New York City as I put down roots in Brooklyn. Wherever you are, my care can meet you there. My offerings reach across the whole journey into parenthood. Alongside sleep, I offer birth preparation through my program The Threshold, blending somatic practice, evidence-based education, and nervous system support, with a specialty in VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). My postpartum care supports recovery and the tender early weeks, including nourishing meal prep with healing foods rooted in traditional care, placenta encapsulation, and gentle postnatal bodywork. At the heart of it all, I believe bringing new life into the world is a profound rite of passage that deserves reverence, preparation, and care. I hold each family's path with deep respect, and I would be honored to walk alongside yours.

My husband and I are so thankful to have worked with Jen through my first pregnancy. She worked with us through a series of educational sessions in our home which really worked for us. We were looking to get a hands-on learning experience to walk us through everything to expect for labor & delivery but really we got so much more. Yes, you will get insights on pregnancy, birth and postpartum but Jen gives you undivided support and care - it really feels like a personal journey. I felt comfortable being myself and sharing with her about my life and preferences which was crucial in creating my birth plan. Her sessions were so impactful. I recalled a lot of her key notes while I was in labor and was able to make decisions that felt right for me in the moment. Outside of this, my husband felt really confident and empowered in his role for me as well. I also found that everything she taught us on partner advocacy has gone beyond the delivery room and strengthened our relationship overall which has been a huge plus! It was amazing to have had her support and wealth of knowledge in preparation for the birth of my son. I highly recommend working with her if you’re looking to experience an informed, supported, and empowered journey!

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Wis!!! Though she wasn’t physically in my delivery room, she played a big part in my birth. She provided so much information that was not only interesting but very useful. She helped me a lot when it came to advocating for myself as a high risk mom. I had a few situations where I felt uncomfortable about the circumstances around how my child was born but Wis prayed with me and provided valuable resources so that I could make informed decisions about my care. Choosing Wis to be your doula would never be a mistake. The love, the care, and dedication she puts into this is beyond a job. I’ve gotten to know and seen her on a personal level and the fact that she’s back in school so she can continue to learn how to support women and families through such a precious time attest to her passion and professionalism around birth work.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Kamelya 4 years ago after our son, Jonah, was born prematurely. As new parents, we thought we were prepared after all the reading and research we had done, but nothing could have truly prepared us for having a premature baby. Having Kamelya with us was a no-brainer. She was recommended to us by a colleague, and she not only took the best care of our son, but also took the time to teach us how to care for him ourselves. She showed us how to feel comfortable and confident holding, feeding, and bathing him all in the comfort of our home. We couldn’t have asked for a better caregiver. Kam was so kind, gentle, patient, and might I add funny! She truly became such an important part of our journey as new parents, and we will always be grateful for everything she did for our son. Thank you for everything, Kam! ❤️ Love, Sharon, Doug & Jonah
