I am passionate about empowering birthing families to actively prepare for childbirth. Through my own experiences, I felt that there was a gap in labor support between healthcare professionals and labor partners. Even more tragically, many birthing families have expressed disappointment or even trauma from a birth experience that felt poorly communicated, emergent, and out of their control. Part of my mandate is to know the limitations of the healthcare system and to educate families to advocate for their own birth using current and evidence-based information. Hi, I'm Ashley! I found a passion for Birth and Postpartum Services after the birth of my first child. I am certified through The International Doula Institute and have a background in Early Childhood Education. I have worked with children from birth to 6 since I was 17 years old. I started my career with infants and children as an infant room teacher, I worked through the ages and enjoyed my time as a Lead One-Year-Old teacher, but my passion was infants. I also spent 2 years as an Assistant Georgia PreK teacher and was the Assistant Director of a local childcare facility. I now have 3 children of my own, 2 girls and 1 boy, all school-aged. My passion is guiding and helping families navigate adding a new family member whether it is your 1st or 5th child. There are challenges that come with every stage, and I love being there teaching and helping to guide and make the transition as smooth as possible.

My journey began in 2014, after watching the documentary, The Business of Being Born. I was shocked at how medical and sterile birth had become and how unfairly some pregnant people are treated. From there, I spent the next three years devouring anything and everything related to birth. I attended my first birth as a doula (unknowingly) in 2017 when my goddaughter was born, and I fell in love with doula work. I married my husband in late 2017, and in early 2019 I found out I was pregnant with my first child. My pregnancy was one of the most enjoyable times of my life. I gave birth vaginally in a hospital transfer from Atlanta Birth Center, to Atlanta Medical Center in November 2019. I have my birth team to thank for solidifying my passion for other people to have the experience I was blessed with. ​I believe information is our greatest tool. I will provide you with evidence-based information from a holistic standpoint. Outside of being a doula, I love to travel. I enjoy visiting new and familiar places with my family. I love cooking, reading, and listening to crime podcasts. I never turn down a taco or a glass of champagne.
