Hello and congratulations! My name is Carla Ward. As a Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, Lactation Counselor and Reiki Master, I strive to share information and techniques to help birthing parents attain a positive, informed, and empowered birthing experience and journey into parenthood. Whether you are striving for a home birth, hospital birth, or birth center birth, adding a doula to your team is an invaluable measure! I firmly believe that a calm, focused, centered and peaceful birth is achievable no matter where it takes place. My goal as a doula and educator is to help you to be the "birthing goddess" you are meant to be! I am mother of three grown children and grandmother to one amazing grandchild. Birth has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I have been and remain today awed by the intensity and raw power of the birthing process. As a DONA Certified Birth Doula, I bring to the table personal experience with birth and it's ups and downs, as well as many years experience assisting others on their birthing journey. Offering support (physical, emotional, and informational) to birthing parents, helping them to find focus and control, trusting their ability to birth their baby, and BELIEVING they can do it... that is the advantage of having a doula on a birthing team! Childbirth Education is another passion! The phrase "knowledge is power" holds true in the pregnancy and childbirth. Teaching parents the anatomy of childbirth, offering comfort measures, and most importantly, providing key information on options/alternatives in childbirth enables birthing parents to make informed choices that work for them. Simply put, as a Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Certified Lactation Counselor, I help birthing parents navigate the the ins and outs of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and beyond , allowing them to achieve a positive, informed, focused, and enlightened journey into parenthood. I offer support for Home Births, Hospital Births, and Birth Center Births!
