Hi! I’m Cassidee, a certified birth + postpartum doula and childbirth educator with Cassadoula, serving Charleston + the Lowcountry. My approach is centered around evidence-based education, confidence and autonomy, and a calm, grounded presence. I want to equip families with the tools and information they need to feel confident and hopeful throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, while supporting you in making the decisions that feel right for your family. I offer birth doula support for families wanting calm, continuous support through labor and birth; daytime + overnight postpartum support focused on your recovery, feeding, rest, and adjusting to life with baby; childbirth education to help you feel informed and prepared; postpartum planning sessions to create a realistic plan for your postpartum season; and in-home postpartum + nursery setup to help prepare your home before baby arrives.

Adding to my wife's review, because Cassidee deserves both. As the dad, what I cared about was reliability, and she was flawless. She let herself in at 3:30 in the morning while we were asleep, got Wesley out of his bassinet without ever waking us, and had him fed and changed by the time we were up. Never once late. Not one shift. She left us a note every morning on how the night went, so we knew exactly where he was at when we took over. She handled his bottles and his laundry, and she was always asking how else she could help. Professional, dependable, and genuinely good with our son. If you're looking for a postpartum doula, you won't do better.

What does postpartum support look like?

Those early days can be beautiful and completely overwhelming at the same time. Whether you need help settling into a new routine, newborn care and feeding support, someone to talk to, a little time to shower or rest, a simple meal, or just another set of hands around the house, I’m here to help with what you need most that day. My support stays within my scope as a doula, but there’s a lot of room within that to make your days feel a little lighter.

What’s the difference between daytime and overnight postpartum support?

Daytime support is focused on caring for you and your family as you settle into life with your new baby. Depending on what you need, that might mean feeding and newborn care support, diaper changes, helping with light household tasks, preparing something to eat, creating space for you to rest, or simply having another set of hands nearby.

What is your approach to birthwork?

The pillars of my practice include prioritizing evidence-based education, encouraging cultivation of confidence and autonomy, being a calm and grounded presence, and providing practical, holistic support.

What does birth doula support include?

Birth support starts during pregnancy, with time to get to know you, talk through your preferences, and help you feel prepared for birth. When the time comes, I provide continuous emotional and physical support, comfort measures, position changes, encouragement, and support for both you and your partner throughout labor and birth.
