About Me & What I'm Looking For Hello! I'm expecting my fourth child and am due in November. Although this isn't my first birth experience, my youngest child is now 13 years old, so it has been quite some time since I've been through labor and delivery. I'm looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional birth doula who can provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout labor and delivery. My birth preferences include: - I plan to receive an epidural for pain management. - I would like encouragement, comfort measures, and guidance before and after receiving the epidural. - I value clear communication, a calm presence, and someone who will help me feel confident and supported during labor. - I would appreciate assistance with labor positioning, breathing techniques, advocacy, and helping my support person participate in the birth experience. I currently have Maryland MedStar Health insurance. I am specifically looking for a doula whose services are covered by my insurance. If my insurance does not cover doula services, I do not plan to pay out of pocket, so insurance acceptance is an important requirement. I want to learn about the birthing process. I am a black woman and want to know all my options besides the ones my doctors say. I am having my baby at holy cross hospital. I am not sure of the price range for a budget. My doctor says I need to have a csection because of my scars from myomectomy.

I am currently 36 weeks pregnant with my second baby. My husband and I are seeking a midwife to aid in the postpartum period post birth. Our primary area of concern is integrating our new baby with our toddler who is currently around 1 year 1/2 (19 months). We are in Upper Marlboro, MD.
