To have Chelsea Shira as my midwife was a dream! She gave us so much space to be as minimal as we desired, and if something came up where we needed tests/info/intervention she was fully equipped and able to get us connected to where we needed to be. I’ve delivered two home births with Chelsea and both times I was amazed with her peaceful disposition during labor, and extreme expertise during crucial situations. With our 2nd homebirth my 11 lb son had shoulder dystocia and I was so thankful for the knowledge, skill and critical thinking she expressed in those crucial moments. Additionally, my son came out not breathing for several minutes and she was able to administer oxygen and resuscitate him. In moments like those when every minute is so precious, I’m deeply grateful for a midwife like Chelsea who was there to support us and take real action. My words can’t express enough how incredible my experience with Chelsea is and how thankful I am for the way she practices. Very communal and home spun, yet seriously equipped with life saving knowledge when you need it!
