Marilyn helped me Post partum after I had my third baby. I was really weak after the birth, having had my baby unexpectedly at home with just my husband. She came over with a quiet and warm personality, she was super caring and anticipated what I would need during the night. She got me hot packs and cold packs, positioned me, took wonderful care of my son and even got me a goodie mommy basket which just shows you how thoughtful she is. I enjoyed having her help and can assure other moms that your child and you are in great hands with Marilyn.

Shelly brought with her such a good feminine energy. She was very supportive and listened carefully to all my needs I liked the team work that we created with her and my partner and the hospital stuff during the labor. She has loving hands for massage as well and in some point it felt like we have a small party which was great!

Cloe is a Birth and Postpartum Doula with over 10 years experience in childcare. She refers to her background in early childhood education and motherhood to provide evidence based guidance with a nurturing touch. Cloe also has her CLC and will be working towards an IBCLC to help new families achieve a positive lactation experience.

Recent review

We worked with Cloe as both a birth and postpartum night doula during and after the birth of our first child. I had a very successful labor and attribute much of that to Cloe's knowledge, compassion, and advocacy. She worked extremely well with my OB and the hospital nursing staff, and I felt so supported. When we got home from the hospital, it was an immense comfort knowing that Cloe would be there to help us through our first night, and many of the nights that followed. Thanks to her guidance, I have also had a smooth breastfeeding experience. My husband and I would strongly recommend Cloe to any expecting person, and, while I am sure that Cloe would be fabulous in any situation, I would particularly refer her to those hoping to have the support of a doula while also seeking a hospital birth.

I’m so glad I opted for a doula. My doula Jamelia was the best. She came prepared and had all the supplies I could possibly need to support me during birth. I highly recommend looking into getting her as a doula if you’re pregnant! I really don’t know what I would’ve done without her.

Curbeth Tappin

14 years of experience

Hi my name is Curbeth Tappin founder of Embrace postpartum services. I am a postpartum doula with 13 years of experience, providing exceptional care to families during the perinatal period. My journey into this field was inspired by my upbringing in a household with a mother who was a midwife, where I witnessed the miracle of birth and recognized the need for more support for both the birthing parent and baby during the postpartum period. As a postpartum doula, I offer comprehensive support to new mothers, including lactation assistance and daily infant care such as feeding and bathing. When working overnight, I ensures the baby's sleep environment is safe and maintains a detailed journal of sleep and feeding patterns. Trained by DONA International, I am well-equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to provide excellent care to both newborns and parents. My passion for postpartum care shines through in my dedication to helping families navigate this transformative time with comfort and confidence.

Recent review

Curbeth Tappin helped my family. Curbeth was the postpartum doula for my sister a few years before I got pregnant with my 4th child. My sister recommended that I hire her because of how much she helped her with her daughter. Curbeth came into my home after my son’s birth and had the nursery completely organized. She assisted me to acclimate the older children with the new baby. She allowed me to rest while she took care of my son. Although I had 3 other children this time breastfeeding was a bit of a struggle. Curbeth provided lactation support as well as emotional support, which I needed to get through that difficult period. She stayed and worked with my family for 3 month. A couple months later i found out I was pregnant with my 5th and last child. Curbeth returned and provided the same amazing support she provided the first time. Having 2 child under 2 years old was a very difficult, but Curbeth made this so much easier. Her patients and loving nature made her feel like part of the family. I know that any family she works for will receive the best support ever.

I practice a non-judgmental and caring approach to supporting mother and baby, while providing parents with advice when asked, and fact-based information on postpartum care. I am passionate about Post Partum care and would love to hear from you. I am trained with Health Connect One as a full spectrum Doula, and will support your journey with calm, compassionate care every step of the way.

I’m a birth doula, certified hypno-doula, placenta encapsulator and mom. My first birth experience was a c section due to breech positioning, thankfully the second time around I’ve gained so much knowledge and experience that I went on to have a successful breech VBAC homebirth. I see pregnancy, birth, and the growth of a family as one of the most inspiring things about humanity. As a Doula, I feel honored to help women and their partners achieve their experience of a positive and healthy birth.

Miriam is calm and levelheaded during labor providing a warm, knowledgeable presence. She knew just when to grab my hand as the contractions were getting intense and her words of encouragement (“You are so strong!” “You can do this”) were just what I needed in the homestretch. I highly recommend her as a doula.
