Not only can I provide excellent care of your newborn, but I'm there to provide support for the whole family by assisting with breastfeeding or bottle feeding, making meals and snacks, answering questions about newborn development or postpartum recovery, and generally providing emotional support during a time that can be both joyful and stressful. I have a BA in pre-medicine and I am currently working towards a master's degree in reproductive science and medicine, which I expect to complete in June 2025. I am planning to apply for physician's assistant programs next, with the goal of working as an OB/Gyn provider. Being a doula allows me to connect with and support the women in my community while I am in school to become a medical provider. I have an immense love for the tiny humans of our world! It's the little scrunch of a newborn waking up, the babbling conversations, or the discovery of their fingers and toes. This stage of life is so precious that most parents miss a good portion of it because you are overwhelmed with the ins and outs of life. Once you spot those precious moments, the whole day reorganizes itself around them. Those are the kinds of things I teach, and it comes from being a preschool teacher prior to becoming a postpartum doula. Professionally, child development is where I come from. My role is not something I've picked up in a weekend workshop, but through years of experience and training. As your support system, I come in to engage with some of the following: take the night shift or the morning one, get you real sleep, help with feedings, put the kitchen back together, organize the baby's things, and help your older child figure out who they are now. What I don't do is judge how you feed your baby, tell you the "right" way to do anything, or leave you dependent on me. My postpartum doula practice operates in the Chicagoland area.
