I've been married for more than 26 years, and my greatest joy in life is being a mom to my three wonderful children. When I'm not spending time with my family, you'll most likely find me cooking for the people I love, curled up with a good book, going for a run or walk (on a good day!), or finding ways to encourage and support young families. Home-cooked meals and great big hugs are definitely my love languages or at least the way I most naturally show people they're cared for. I've always been a "baby person." For more than 30 years, I've had the privilege of working with children and families in one way or another. But it wasn't until I became a mother myself that my heart truly opened to what new parents experience. I remember so clearly what those early days felt like, the questions, the exhaustion, the joy, and the tenderness of it all. That experience grew my love for babies into a deep compassion for moms and dads as they navigate the beautiful and often overwhelming transition into parenthood. For more than eight years, I've had the joy and honor of serving families as a birth doula, and for over seven years as a postpartum doula. I'm also a Hypnobabies Hypno-Doula and a pediatric sleep consultant, which allows me to support families not only through birth but throughout those precious early weeks and months when everything feels so new.

Because of my background in science and medicine, my practice as a doula is research-based. I’m a Christian wife, mother, and RN who discovered a passion for birth work after having my own babies. I have been a birth doula since 2022 and a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), licensed since 2025. My midwifery practice is focused on faith and trust in the design of a woman’s and baby’s bodies to navigate the birth process. I work with my clients so that they can make informed decisions and consent. I consider myself a minimalist and love allowing the process unfold undisturbed unless absolutely necessary. As a birth doula, I have the most experience in attending unmedicated labors and do love to work with women who have this goal. However, I do still attend medicated births, planned or unplanned. My name is McKenna; I am a birth and postpartum doula. I became a doula in 2023 after the birth of my second child. As too many experience, my birth with my first was not what I had envisioned it to be. This lead me down the path of how disconnected birth has become. After my second child, I started my doula education and set on a path to help families feel supported and educated no matter the circumstance. As a doula, helping mom & baby of course is the main focus, but supporting the partner and/or the whole family unit is another major aspect of my practice as well. Partners are a vital role in the birth, and I focus on this connection between the two. I recognize that giving birth and the postpartum period is more than a medical experience, it is a key life experience and one that will be remembered all your life.
