Erika Washburn Birth Doula in Tampa, FL
About Erika
My passion and mission as a Birth Doula is to joyfully walk with pregnant women in their own personal birthing journey while empowering both mind and body. Through education, resources, and physical/emotional/spiritual support, I care for birthing families as a whole. We will prepare body and mind, we will learn to replace fear with strength, and we will actively take steps to achieve the birth YOU desire. I am honored to support women in this beautifully divine process and grateful to be living out my calling!

What to expect
As your Birth Doula, I will meet with you for 1-2 prenatal visits during pregnancy in order to build our relationship, and allow me to learn your birth wishes. All depending on your individual situation, I will spend time sharing pregnancy birth education, methods for coping during labor including positions, breathing, relaxation, massage, counter pressure and more. I'm also available via phone or email throughout your pregnancy. I will support you through labor for its entirety, and remain for a short time following birth to help you and baby get acclimated and started breastfeeding (if desired). There will be a postpartum visit around 1-2 weeks after birth where we can talk through and process your birth. I will also be checking in on how feeding and sleep is going as well as how things are going on an emotional level.
