I’m a caring, calm, and practical family support provider with a diverse professional background in healthcare, childcare, aquatics, first aid, and community work. I spent 12 years working in healthcare with at-risk youth and older adults, and I’m currently completing my Full Spectrum Doula training through Doula School Canada, including postpartum care. I bring that combination of healthcare experience, safety knowledge, and hands-on family support into the way I care for both parents and children. My approach is very individual. I don’t believe there is one “right” way to parent, recover, feed a baby, build a routine, or support a child. I believe in meeting families where they are, listening before assuming, and helping people feel more confident in their own abilities rather than stepping in and trying to take over or “fix” things. Sometimes support means practical help, sometimes it means information or reassurance, and sometimes it means recognizing that someone is exhausted and needs a meal, a shower, a few uninterrupted hours of sleep, or simply another capable adult in the room. With children, I’m calm, creative, and very hands-on. I encourage age-appropriate independence, I’m patient about mistakes, happy to answer approximately nine million questions, and generally not bothered by a little mud, paint, flour, or chaos along the way. I also have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children and youth and take an individualized, trauma-informed approach to communication, routines, sensory needs, and emotional regulation. Ultimately, I want the families I support to feel safe, respected, listened to, and more confident — not judged or managed. I bring a lot of professional knowledge into a home, but I never forget that it is your family, your values, and your life. My role is to support you in it.

Hi There! I am an experienced labour and delivery trained nurse with over three years of experience in perinatal care. My passion is to support the mother and baby dyads by reducing trauma in labour. I provide evidence-based childbearing education to create personalized birth plans, compassionate in-labour support, and at home postpartum recovery.

Tessa Neilson is a Vancouver-based Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner offering evidence-informed care for women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. Her work integrates classical Chinese medicine with a modern clinical understanding of the nervous, hormonal, and musculoskeletal systems. Treatments are calm, individualized, and hands-on—using acupuncture, cupping, and herbal medicine to support physiological regulation and whole-body balance. Tessa has advanced training in reproductive and perinatal care, and works with patients at all stages—from cycle regulation and fertility support to pregnancy, labour preparation, and postpartum recovery. She offers in-home and hospital-based acupuncture support during labour, as well as treatments in her South Granville clinic.

Hi I'm Aya (she/they)! I am a full spectrum doula providing support through fertility, birth, and postpartum. I am also trained to support abortion and loss. I have an background in somatic therapy and herbalism, and have an affinity for Asian and Mexican birth and postpartum traditions.
