I have Medi-Cal coverage, and I am reaching out because I am looking for prenatal and birth support that is culturally respectful, trauma-informed, and centered around human connection and traditional care. I am originally from Guatemala, and it is very important to me to find a midwife, doula, or care provider who understands or respects Indigenous and culturally rooted approaches to pregnancy and birth. If possible, I would especially appreciate support from an Indigenous, Native, Black, Latina, or BIPOC provider, or someone with experience working with Indigenous Latin American women and migrant communities. I also want to share that I have experienced two previous pregnancy losses: one in 2021 at approximately 5 months of pregnancy, and another in 2025 at approximately 3 months. Because of these experiences, I am hoping to find care that feels emotionally supportive, respectful, and safe throughout this pregnancy. I would like to ask: Do you accept Medi-Cal? Do you offer midwifery or doula services? Do you have Spanish-speaking providers? Do you have providers with experience supporting Indigenous or culturally diverse families? Hi, This is my first pregnancy and I am currently 10 weeks along. I am looking for guidance and support from a doula who can help both my husband and me navigate this journey. I am planning to give birth in a hospital. My goal is to have a natural birth with an epidural. At the same time, I am open to any medical recommendations necessary to ensure the health and safety of both myself and the baby. I would also love to build an ongoing relationship with a doula who can continue to support me during the postpartum period, including education around lactation and breastfeeding. We are covered by Carrot Insurance and Kaiser, so it would be wonderful if you accept either of these.

This is our 2nd baby and we didn't have the best experience in the hospital during our first birth in 2019. Now that I'm pregnant at 40, we're looking for more of a natural experience, with less of the trauma. We have found a doula through this site and are now looking for a midwife to assist with home birthing. We're completely new to this idea, but are very open to it. My medical insurance is through Medi-Cal, specifically Anthem Blue Cross. I've noticed that providers within your company accept it, I'm just not sure to what extent considering this is my first time looking into this option.
