My journey into this work began through my own lived experience with postpartum depression and anxiety, which opened my eyes to how deeply parents need support during pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood, and how often they’re expected to navigate it alone. For over five years, I’ve supported families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period with compassionate, nonjudgmental, and evidence-based care. As a birth doula, I provide emotional support, education, advocacy, comfort measures, and a calming presence throughout labor and delivery, helping families feel informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way. My postpartum work focuses on newborn care, recovery support, feeding guidance, and helping parents adjust with confidence during those early weeks at home. Before becoming a doula, I spent more than 15 years working with children as a special education teacher assistant and childcare supervisor, which gave me a strong foundation in infant development, family-centered care, and supporting children with diverse needs. I’m especially passionate about maternal mental health, birth equity, and ensuring that every parent, regardless of background, has access to respectful, nurturing care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She promotes holistic births and birth planning for both hospital and home births, while being an active advocate for all women and their families. Summernickol brings her nurturing side and positive energy to postpartum care. With a strong belief in setting families up for success, Summernickol equips families with education, resources, skills and support. While she has a strong background in supporting high-risk and teen pregnancies, Summernickol is experienced in also offering sibling care, belly casting, ASL tutoring, and rebozo sifting. Summernickol is an avid reader and traveling foodie who uses her free time to volunteer in her community.

Hi, I’ve been an overnight postpartum doula for 4 years and a birth doula for one year. I’m a mother of two and a grandmother to two grandson. I believe parents need support within the first few weeks after coming home with the new addition. Sleep deprivation is real and there might be older siblings that need you, so getting the proper attention of sleep is important . I am there to help you with whatever you need to make your life and your family’s life manageable. I will care for your baby overnight ( feeding, changing, burping, rocking etc)while you get the sleep you deserve. I’ll tidy up your kitchen and wash, dry and fold a load(s)of baby laundry that you might have. If your family has laundry I will be more than willing to wash their laundry as well. If you are breast feeding or bottle feeding I am here to help and support you in any way I can.
