I am a labor/postpartum support serving families in the DFW area. My pursuit to maternal health education began six years ago when I experienced a homebirth of my third child. The following year, I supported a community member birth at the hospital and witnessed the differences between midwife facilitating brith at home and a midwife facilitating birth at a hospital. My research to find answers led me to learning about the history and the foundation of obstetrics in the United States. I'm Amber, founder of Rooted Motherhood Co., a pediatric sleep consultant and postpartum doula serving families through pregnancy and postpartum. My own experience with postpartum depression was the turning point that led me into this work, and once I found my way back to myself through better sleep, I became passionate about helping other exhausted, anxious moms do the same. As a sleep consultant, I take an individualized approach, looking at the whole child and the big picture rather than forcing one method on every family, and my gentle sleep training is grounded in evidence, not rigid rules.
