Hi, I’m Gloria, a certified birth and postpartum doula and the founder of Little Gems Doula Services.
My journey began in 2019 after a traumatic birth experience that left me feeling broken and confused. When I found out I was expecting our second child in 2022, I was excited but also terrified of repeating my first experience. Seeking support, I researched my options and decided I needed a doula. My doula not only helped me process my first birth but also guided me in healing and preparing me and my partner for our second birth experience. Thanks to her support, I entered my second birth feeling empowered, educated, and safer than I ever anticipated. My second birth story was powerful, healing, and redemptive.
Having personally experienced the transformative power of doula support, I realized that this was my true passion and calling. I pursued certification and attended my first birth later that same year.
As a dedicated doula, my mission is to offer compassionate, non-judgmental, and personalized support to families throughout their childbirth journey. I strive to empower moms by providing physical, emotional, and informational assistance, creating a safe, nurturing environment where their voices are heard and respected. Through education, advocacy, and continuous encouragement, I aim to help families experience a positive, informed, and transformative birth experience that honors their unique needs and choices every step of the way.

I cannot recommend Gloria enough. From the very beginning, she was empowering, informative, and such a calming presence throughout my pregnancy and birth experience. She provided me with the knowledge and resources I needed to feel confident in my choices and always made sure I understood every option available. During labor, she advocated for me beautifully, ensuring my voice was heard and respected. Her support—both emotional and physical—made an incredible difference and helped me feel strong and capable throughout the entire process. I am so grateful to have had her by my side and truly believe my birth experience was more positive and empowering because of her. I feel as though our hearts are forever linked!

Frequently asked questions
What is a doula?
A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to a birthing person and their family throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. A doula doesn’t provide medical care, but instead works alongside your healthcare team to ensure your preferences and needs are met.
How can a doula help during pregnancy?
During pregnancy, a doula offers emotional support, helps with birth planning, provides educational resources, and ensures that you feel confident and prepared for your upcoming birth.
What is the difference between a doula and a midwife?
A doula provides non-medical support and advocacy, while a midwife is a licensed healthcare professional who provides medical care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Doulas work alongside your midwife or obstetrician to support your emotional and physical needs.
Do I need a doula if I’m having a planned C-section?
Yes! A doula can provide valuable support during a planned C-section by helping you navigate the emotional and physical aspects of the experience, offering comfort measures, and supporting you and your partner during the recovery process.
Can my partner or other family members still be involved with a doula present?
Absolutely! A doula’s role is to support both you and your partner, guiding them in how to offer the best support to you. We want to work together to create a positive birth experience that includes everyone’s involvement.
What should I expect during labor with my doula?
During labor, your doula will offer continuous emotional and physical support, help with comfort techniques (such as breathing exercises, massage, and position changes), provide encouragement, and advocate for your wishes with the medical team. We also offer reassurance and guidance during each stage of labor.
How early should I hire a doula?
It’s a good idea to hire a doula as soon as you feel comfortable, ideally early in your second trimester. This allows ample time to discuss your preferences, plan for your birth, and build a trusting relationship.
What virtual Doula services do you offer?
I offer a range of virtual doula services to support you no matter where you are. These include:
Prenatal Consultations: Virtual meetings to discuss your birth plan, answer any questions, and provide guidance on what to expect during pregnancy and labor.
Birth Education & Preparation: I can provide resources, a childbirth education course, and tailored advice on topics such as comfort measures, breathing techniques, and what to expect during different stages of labor.
Emotional Support: I'm available for virtual check-ins throughout your pregnancy to offer encouragement, reassurance, and advice, especially if you're feeling anxious or uncertain.
Labor & Birth Support (Virtual): While I can't be with you physically, I can provide continuous emotional support, comfort measures, and guidance during labor via video or phone call, helping you navigate decisions and stay calm.
Postpartum Support: After your baby arrives, I offer virtual postpartum check-ins to provide breastfeeding support, newborn care tips, and emotional well-being guidance as you transition into parenthood.
With virtual doula services, you can have the same level of support and connection, even if we're not physically in the same room. My goal is to make sure you feel heard, prepared, and empowered during your entire journey.
How much does a doula cost, and is it covered by insurance?
The cost of doula services varies. My packages range from $500 to $800 depending on the level of support you choose. Some insurance plans may cover doula services or offer reimbursement, so it’s worth checking with your provider.
How much does Gloria charge?
Gloria's Bloom Package is $500 USD, flat rate. Gloria lists 3 packages in all.
