Welcome! I’m Hadassah Bellot, a licensed midwife and the founder of Myrtle Tree Midwifery, proudly serving families throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Originally from the Bronx, my journey into birth work was born from a passion to reclaim safe, sacred, and supported birth experiences for all families . I provide holistic, personalized care that begins well before labor and birth. My specialties include home birth, water birth, and preconception counseling, with a strong focus on Black maternal health, fertility support, and person-centered care. I am trained in supporting VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean), twins, triplets, breech births, and I integrate Spinning Babies® techniques to promote optimal fetal positioning.

My passion is making perinatal support more accessible to individuals who may have considered a home birth to be a luxury. The care that is provided is non-judgmental and un-biased. Can I give birth in water?

Yes, all of my clients have access to my pools. They just purchase a liner and a hose if they want a water birth.

Can I have a doula if I hire a midwife?

Absolutely ! I actually prefer when families get the emotional, physical and informational support of a doula. The right doula can be a great asset to your birth team.
