Hi there! I’m Amanda, the body & soul behind Solstice Birthwork. I became a certified full-spectrum doula through the TrustHer initiative to improve maternal health in Tarrant County. I offer support for fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and lactation in Fort Worth and the surrounding metroplex. My own experiences with pregnancy, labor, postpartum & lactation fueled me to develop a space where all families could be heard, honored & allowed to heal. I’m Em - mama of many, wife to my best friend and new homestead-er. I created my photography business in 2018 not knowing exactly what I wanted to capture, I just knew I wanted to help those in my community save their memories for a lifetime. Fast forward to 2021, I attended my first birth, a sweet home birth. After that I know that birth work was exactly what I was looking for - it has become my passion. In winter of 2022 I got my doula certification to serve local mamas during their pregnancy, labor and postpartum. While my family lived in South Africa(2018-2019), I was blessed to become a certified doula through their WOMBS (women offering mothers birth support) program. Along with in-person classes, I experienced hands-on doula opportunities with laboring women in 2 different hospital locations in Johannesburg. I believe this experience opened my heart to truly seeing the importance of having a strong support system during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. Children are a blessing from the Lord and every mother deserves the best through her pregnancy/delivery. I personally have experienced 3 hospital births, 2 birth center deliveries, and 2 home births. I have always wanted to be in birthwork, since I had my first child at 18, but never knew where I would fit in. A few years ago I learned what a doula was and knew that that was where I belong.
