My main reason in wanting a doula is that this is my second pregnancy (May 2024) and I very much want a VBAC, so having a doula that is experienced with VBACs is important to me. I am also African American and we have higher chances of c-sections, preterm births and mortality rates so it is important that everyone on my birth team understands that and helps advocate for me and my baby. I will be delivering at Texas Health HEB and budget is roughly $1500 or less, especially since I have limited time left. Hoping for smooth second birth that is unmedicated or with minimal medical intervention in a hospital in Allen, Tx. First birth was induced at 41 weeks with hemorrhaging and a second degree tear. Insurance provider is tricare.
