About me

Hello there! I'm genuinely excited to share a bit about myself and why I'm so passionate about being a doula. My journey in doula work is rooted in a deep commitment to providing warm, culturally competent support. I have a special focus on being there for marginalized communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals. Drawing from my own experiences as a survivor of sexual assault and emotional abuse, I've found a unique wellspring of empathy and understanding that I bring to every interaction. In addition to my commitment to inclusive and compassionate care, I am a proud Christian. My faith plays a significant role in my life, and I am thrilled to offer spiritual support to anyone who desires it during their childbirth journey. Whether it involves prayer, scripture, or simply creating a peaceful and comforting atmosphere, I am here to tailor my doula practice to align with your spiritual preferences. I'm dedicated to staying in the know, constantly educating myself on the specific needs of the communities I'm here to serve. It's not just about what I know now; it's about the continuous learning journey. Staying informed about the latest in doula care is my way of making sure I'm always offering the best support possible. I'm all about openness and zero judgment. That's my promise to you – a safe and welcoming space where your unique story is not just heard but celebrated. I truly believe that my one-of-a-kind background, perspective, and faith can make a meaningful, positive impact on the incredible individuals and communities I have the privilege of supporting during the transformative journey of childbirth. Can't wait to be a part of your journey!

Service introduction

By offering two prenatal meetings, there is ample time for discussing various aspects of the birthing process. Reviewing the birth plan, potential procedures, and coping skills during these meetings can help ensure that everyone involved is well-informed and prepared for the upcoming experience. I encourage clients to send questions about specific procedures in advance which allows for a more focused and productive discussion, enabling me to address your concerns and provide evidence-based information. Providing full labor support during active labor is a crucial aspect of a comprehensive approach to prenatal care. It involves putting into practice the tools and coping skills discussed during the prenatal sessions. This hands-on support can greatly contribute to a positive birthing experience for the pregnant person and their support system. The inclusion of postpartum visits recognizes the importance of ongoing support during the transition to parenthood. The first visit is designed to allow the birthing person and their support system to discuss and process the birth experience. The second visit aims to provide practical support and an opportunity for the birthing person to focus on self-care. This can include light housekeeping. All of this can be adjusted to reflect virtual services.
