Kate Malicdem
About me
Hello, my name is Kate, and I am a prenatal, birth, and postpartum doula, as well as a proud mom of one. As both a doula and a mother, I understand the physical, emotional, and life changing journey of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and specialize in mobility education and coaching, flexibility, pelvic floor support, lactation support, newborn education, and light household assistance during the postpartum period. My goal is to provide compassionate emotional, physical, and informed support for both mom and dad throughout pregnancy, labor and birth, and the postpartum transition. I strive to help families feel informed, empowered, and confident while creating a safe and supportive environment every step of the way.

Service introduction
I provide personalized birth and postpartum doula support with a prepared and intentional approach to pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood. With a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, prior experience in physical therapy and personal experience as a mother, I incorporate movement, body awareness, and physical and emotional preparation into my doula support. My doula package includes 5 prenatal sessions, continuous labor and delivery support, and 6 postpartum sessions. Prenatal sessions are designed to help you feel informed, prepared, and confident as you approach birth. We will discuss your birth preferences, comfort measures, labor preparation, mobility and movement, core preparation, and ways your partner or support person can be actively involved. I also provide a supportive space where you can share your concerns, ask questions, and receive encouragement throughout your pregnancy. During labor and delivery, I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support while honoring your individual birth preferences, whether you are planning an unmedicated vaginal birth, a medicated birth, or a C-section. Support may include guidance with labor positions and movement, comfort measures, breathing and relaxation techniques, partner encouragement and involvement, and creating a calm and supportive birth environment. My postpartum support focuses on helping you transition into life with your newborn and adjust to the physical and emotional changes that come with parenthood. Support includes newborn care education, lactation and feeding support, postpartum recovery and mobility, and practical assistance as you establish new routines and build confidence caring for your baby. As a mother myself, I understand how important compassionate, knowledgeable, and nonjudgmental support can be during such a significant transition. My goal is to help you feel prepared during pregnancy, supported throughout labor, and cared for as you transition into postpartum and parenthood. I am committed to continuing my education through additional classes and training so I can expand my knowledge and provide families with thoughtful, informed, and individualized support.
