About me

As a Registered Nurse, Certified Sleep Consultant and Certified Postpartum Doula with more than 23 years of full -time night experience, my goal is creating confident parents. Caring for more than 250 newborns has given me a wealth of experience in transitional care of babies into family life. This is accomplished by establishing successful feed/sleep routines, teaching calming techniques and answering the myriad questions that would be in a manual if babies came with one. This enables everyone to get much needed rest much sooner than is typically experienced in this scenario. As a Certified Sleep Consultant, also known as "The Sleep Angel" I also assist families who have not had the benefit of my guidance from the beginning of life with their baby. Tackling issues of sleep disturbance/interruption in older infants/toddlers with gentle, supportive techniques results in peace in the home environment that only sleep can provide. I look forward to meeting and working with you and your little one!

Service introduction

I have 23+ years of experience in the care of newborns and infants specializing in establishing gentle, supportive feed/sleep routines. This enables parents and infants to get the rest they all desperately need while the many needs of the baby can be met and everyone is getting to know one another. Consistency of approach by all care givers is very important as babies respond extremely well to predictability and the security it provides. This also allows patterns to develop which assist the baby to move between feed and sleep cycles as they develop. It makes sleep rhythms much easier to establish.

Kathy is phenomenal. She coached us through our first born son who is now 6 and slept like a CHAMP and she also coached us with our second who also slept with flying colors. She made custom plans with us, listened, engaged proactively, checked in, and supported us through very difficult and trying moments as parents of little babies. Cannot say enough good things about Kathy. She cares immensely about her work, her community, her clients, and the kids she is supporting. She is loving, kind, empathetic, and also can provide the tough love needed to get through some more difficult moments. Kathy is an active listener, responsive, and just an incredible person to have in your corner as you navigate so many unknowns as a parent. Her knowledge and experience with babies is unmatched- she's seen it all and helped so many families, including ours of course.

Kathy has been such an incredible and invaluable resource for our family. We had the privilege of working with her starting when our daughter was 6 weeks old. We were sleep deprived and had already developed bad sleeping habits that felt impossible to break. Kathy got us on a sustainable and nuturing sleep schedule that helped our entire family excel. We cannot thank her enough for helping our daughter and us sleep. My husband the other day said "we are calling Kathy the moment we find out we are pregnant with baby number 2."

Kathy was an invaluable resource to my wife and me when we were sleep training our two children. She was kind, thoughtful, patient and responsive. She offered sound advice grounded in both research and experience. She was encouraging and supportive when things were going well, and when my wife and I needed that extra nudging to stick with it when things felt challenging. I'd absolutely recommend working with her when trying to figure out how to think about schedules, nighttime sleeping, and napping/feeding strategies. Kathy is amazing.
