Hi there! I’m Kayla Morrison, and my work as a birth doula is driven by a deep mission to provide the advocacy and protection that every family deserves. I was inspired to enter this field after witnessing the neglect my own family members faced within the healthcare system. These personal experiences, combined with the critical need to address the Black maternal mortality rate, fuel my passion for being a shield for my clients—ensuring you are heard, respected, and safely cared for throughout your journey. My philosophy centers on holistic emotional and physical support. As a certified herbalist, I don't just focus on the birth itself; I use my knowledge of plants to support your emotional well-being and hormonal balance during the intense postpartum transition. Whether it's through calming nervines to ease anxiety or nutritive herbs to replenish your energy, I aim to nurture your spirit as much as your body. My background in breastfeeding and child education further ensures you have a confident, evidence-based foundation for early parenthood. I also believe that a peaceful home is essential for a smooth transition. I offer unique guidance on bringing babies home to pets, helping you set up your nursery and home rhythm in a way that makes your animals feel secure and included. My goal is to provide a "supportive safety net" for your entire household, bridging gaps in care with compassion, education, and unwavering advocacy. I look forward to providing you with virtual care

Holistic Preparation (Body & Mind) I believe in preparing the body as much as the mind. In any of my support plans, we can incorporate: Movement & Yoga: Tailored exercises and yoga poses to help keep you comfortable during pregnancy and prepare your body for the physical work of labor. Herbal Wellness Consultations: We can schedule a dedicated herbal call where I specify which herbs support your body best. This includes: Daily Nutritive Herbs: For overall pregnancy health. Labor Preparation: Specific herbs used to help naturally prepare the body for induction. Note: I provide the education and specific herbal suggestions, which you will then verify with your primary healthcare provider. Emotional Support Methods: You choose the method that resonates with you (such as Hypnobirthing), and I provide the coaching to make it work for you.
