Thank you so much for stopping by! My journey to birth work began in 2017, following the birth of my first baby. I have been a fully certified childbirth educator and doula since 2018. Additionally, I recently obtained my Certified Breastfeeding Specialist certificate (CBS) from Lactation Education Resources in October 2025. Prior to getting into birth work, I attended Notre Dame of Maryland University, where I studied biology and graduated with high honors. I have since become a mother of 2. Both of my children were born without intervention and at home. When not working, I can be found reading for pleasure, exercising, doing yoga, hiking, or gardening. I reside in Bowie, MD and serve clients within a 50-mile radius of my home.

Kristen Nero is a doula, childbirth educator, and lactation specialist serving women of the greater D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan areas. While she radically supports any and all birthing choices, her specialty lies in preparing women for natural, unmedicated birth in any setting - hospital, birth center, or at home. She supports her clients by emphasizing prenatal exercise, meditation, autonomous consumerism, and the science of physiological birth.
My husband and I took her Bradley method in-person course while expecting our first child. What initially seemed like a mysterious and complicated process was laid out so clearly and realistically that by the time we finished the class, we are alot more confident we can have the unmedicated, natural, birth center birth that we have been planning for. Kristen is not only knowledgeable, but approachable and makes herself completely available to all questions and concerns. You can tell she is very passionate about birth work and the course is well-worth your time!

Kristen is an exceptional childbirth educator. My husband and I learned so much from her class. She is incredibly knowledgeable about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. She provided excellent resources, helpful prenatal exercises, and a variety of effective laboring techniques. As a first-time parent, I now feel far more confident about having an unmedicated birth after taking her class.
