👋🏽 I'm a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), certified perinatal mental health provider (PMH-C), and native Angeleno. I'm also a mom of two. I'm passionate about providing thoughtful, comprehensive infant feeding education and clinical care to new and expecting parents. From practical prenatal guidance to gentle weaning strategies, and everything in between. My approach to lactation care is culturally responsive and holistic, with a focus on co-regulation, bodywork, and mental health. I offer in-home lactation support in LA or virtual visits. In-home visits may include comprehensive maternal and infant assessments, latch & positioning support, pre and post feed weight check, pump assessment and optimization, bottle feeding guidance, and lactation education + resources. A personalized care plan is provided with each visit along with one week of email support. Virtual visits are great for addressing questions or concerns, education, and follow up support, i.e.: prenatal guidance, return to work prep, or introducing solids. 🪷 In-Person Breastfeeding Support Circles are held monthly in Culver City and exclusively for BCBS / Anthem members. I'll be leading the 90-minute session, offering a space for personalized support. It's an opportunity to ask questions, get individualized guidance, and connect with other moms. I found Lana through my insurance when my daughter and I were struggling with breastfeeding, and I truly wish I had connected with her sooner! Working with her has completely transformed my breastfeeding experience. She is incredibly knowledgeable and provided clear, thoughtful guidance that helped us address our challenges and see real improvement. Her combination of virtual and in-home visits is so convenient. I don't know if I can find the right words to express how grateful I am to have found Lana as a lactation consultant. I almost gave up on my breastfeeding journey... that is until I met Lana. I was experiencing severe nipple pain while pumping, difficultly with my newborn latching and decreasing milk production. In our first meeting, Lana quickly identified that I was using the wrong sized flange - which was the root cause of my pain while pumping. After having bad experiences with two different pumps, she fitted me and recommended a pump that I currently use and love so much more than the other two pumps that I've tried. During my visits with Lana, she conducted a comprehensive assessment of my baby as well. She evaluated my baby for tongue ties and oral tension. She taught me how to do stretching exercises on my baby to improve their latching ability and ensure comfortable positioning at the breast. She also performed weighted feeds during my evaluation which reassured me that my baby was getting enough milk while breastfeeding. As a mother that is currently combo feeding, Lana quickly identified that the bottles that I was using were making the breast to bottle transition more difficult for my baby. She recommended different bottles that improved my baby's latch at my breasts. If you are a new mother getting ready to embark on your breastfeeding journey be sure to meet with Lana to set yourself up for success. And if you are like me, a mother that is struggling with breastfeeding - don't give up! Meet with Lana before you even think about quitting. Lana, your sincerity, gentle approach and kindness will never be forgotten. <3
