About me

Hello! I'm Lauren Wist the founder of Lactation with Lauren. I am a RN since 2009 at a large birthing hospital in Maryland and an IBCLC for the last 8 years and counting. I work in-patient in the hospital as a lactation consultant and am starting to provide care in families' homes to provide continued support. I love that each family I work with has their own story and their own journey. There are hard days and there are thriving days - I am honored to be part of each situation as we find the next right thing and reach personalized goals. When I am not using my IBCLC skills I love to spend time with my husband, 3 school aged kids, and young standard poodle. We enjoy visiting extended family members spread out along the East Coast, hiking in Patapsco State Park and traveling by airplane to new places when we have extra time together.

I had a great experience working with Lauren! I reached out after being unsure how to completely wean the rest of my milk supply. My son was mostly weaned and only breastfeeding for a few minutes at a time, about twice a day. I was pumping to fully drain, but was confused on how to stop producing milk without getting mastitis. Then came Lauren! Not only was she very helpful and gave me confidence in being able to fully stop producing, but she was empathetic and so kind towards me in this special time of life. I immediately began implementing the steps to stop producing milk and I completely dried up in about a week, comfortably and confidently! Lauren also provided help with how to soothe my son through this change, which was greatly appreciated! Huge thanks to Lauren on helping me transition to a new stage of motherhood!

Lauren is amazing lactation consultant. She is patient , informative, and always helps you feel like you’re on the right track. Her suggestions are clear and encouraging. She brings a positive energy to the sometimes draining experience that is breastfeeding and infanthood. Never rushed, Lauren ensures that both mom and baby feel cared for. She is careful to include partners as well so they feel as involved as they would like to be. I highly recommend Lauren to all mothers!
