About Liz

I am a proud mom of four incredible children, now ages 12 to 24. My journey as a mother has taken me across the U.S. and overseas, giving birth in four different states along the way. When I’m not supporting growing families, you can usually find me outdoors—hiking, surfing, and enjoying island life. My path into perinatal care was deeply shaped by two starkly different early birth and breastfeeding experiences. Giving birth to my oldest son while earning my Bachelor’s in Anthropology at UC Berkeley, I was surrounded by a supportive culture that allowed for an empowering, physiological birth and a smooth nursing journey. Years later, while in nursing school in New Mexico, I experienced the opposite: rigid practices, unnecessary separation, and a lack of support that left lasting impacts. Realizing that this second experience was, sadly, the norm for most families in our society sparked my passion to advocate for better care and inspired my life’s work. After graduating nursing school, I gained valuable clinical experience as an RN in a busy hospital mother/baby unit, as well as working as a school nurse and home health nurse caring for medically fragile and special needs children. Driven by a lifelong passion for learning and skill development, I have continually expanded my clinical toolbox—becoming a Childbirth Educator, IBCLC, Doula, and Spinning Babies Certified Birth Professional, alongside advanced training in Oral Habilitation and currently completing the Neuro-Play program. Today, I own and operate a private practice serving Oahu and the Big Island—offering lactation and doula home visits across all stages of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and infancy, as well as prenatal retreats, group classes, and free monthly community support groups. I am dedicated to shifting care culture toward individualized, holistic, and evidence-based maternity care, and it is a true privilege to help families navigate their unique birth, infant feeding, and developmental goals.

I cannot recommend Liz highly enough! I had the privilege of working with her from the very beginning of my breastfeeding journey, starting while I was still pregnant, and I truly believe her guidance and support played a huge role in my success. Before I even gave birth, she walked me through what to expect with the first latch, what breastfeeding would look like in those first days, and everything that comes both before and after delivery. Having that knowledge ahead of time gave me so much confidence and helped me feel prepared for what could otherwise have been a very overwhelming experience. Her support group is something I will remember forever. Having a community where I could ask questions, share experiences, and receive encouragement was invaluable. I honestly don't think I would have been able to exclusively breastfeed for over a year without the support and reassurance I received from her and the group. She was also incredibly helpful when I transitioned back to work. She gave me so many practical tips and tricks for pumping effectively and made what could have been a very stressful transition feel much more manageable. What makes her so special is not only how knowledgeable she is, but how genuinely supportive and encouraging she is. She made me feel confident, never judged, and always reminded me that I was capable. I am incredibly grateful that she was part of such an important chapter in my journey, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any mom, whether you're just starting out or need support along the way. She truly made a lasting impact on our breastfeeding journey!

Service, personality and knowledge were amazing! Reserve Liz for sure as your doula. My wife Katie and I utilized Liz for her doula services for our first child! Some of our considerations were that we needed someone familiar with military family medicine (✅), someone who was flexible/comfortable with our plan (✅), and finally someone who was guiding without being pushy (✅✅✅). Now I won't speak for my wife who has nothing but praises but as a husband Liz did an amazing job on educating me not only to all the things my wife would be going through but when and where I should help! That was very useful for me who wants to be there and support my wife! Liz made me feel just as much part of the process (to the extent a man can be) and ready for every step along the way! If we weren't leaving hawaii Liz would be involved in all of our future children's births! And we know in some part she will be as a counselor and resource from afar, as once you've connected with Liz it is a friendship that doesn't have a timelimit on it.
