Welcome! I’m Hadassah Bellot, a licensed midwife and the founder of Myrtle Tree Midwifery, proudly serving families throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Originally from the Bronx, my journey into birth work was born from a passion to reclaim safe, sacred, and supported birth experiences—especially for Black women and families. I provide holistic, personalized care that begins well before labor and birth. My specialties include home birth, water birth, and preconception counseling, with a strong focus on Black maternal health, fertility support, and person-centered care. I am trained in supporting VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean), twins, triplets, breech births, and I integrate Spinning Babies® techniques to promote optimal fetal positioning.

I have an abiding commitment to the field of maternal and infant health and have served expectant and postpartum families for over twenty-five years. I am dedicated to providing respectful, compassionate and individualized care.

Tamika Harris believes in every family's right to make an informed decision about their infant feeding choice. She is a board-certified Lactation Consultant and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Tamika is a human milk donor and has provided lactation support to families in home, hospital and community settings. As a WIC counselor, she focused on leading peer-to-peer lactation support groups. Tamika is also an instructor for Lactation Education Resources. She was elected to the Executive Committee of the D.C. Breastfeeding Coalition and the Board of Directors for Breastfeeding USA. Tamika has visited congress members on Capitol Hill with the United States Breastfeeding Committee to advocate for policies focused on supporting lactating families and was selected to a special advisory committee for the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners.

Hi there! My name is Darshal but you can call me Dee! I am a mom and experienced doula. I’m originally from Mississippi, and have a beautiful, blossoming teenage daughter! My journey into motherhood and the knowledge and empowerment gained through childbirth has led me to become a doula. Jessica Faulkner is a certified Birth & Postpartum Doula as well as a certified Death Doula. She has been a Birth Doula for 6 years. Postpartum Doula for 2 and Death Doula for 1 year. She received her Hospitality Management degree from Morgan State University, during the pandemic of 2020. It was before this time in 2018 that she was fully into swing with her role as a Birth Doula and partaking in helping parents learn the joy of birth planning and informed management during birth. Amy is a true family advocate. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her master’s degree in human lactation. Starting her career working with families as a doula in the Philadelphia metro area, she supported hospital births, home births, and birth center births. Her personal breastfeeding journey was very rewarding, and it quickly grew into a passion of supporting others in their own breastfeeding journey. She owned a state registered daycare in Vermont for 6 years before moving to Maryland in 2021. Amy completed her internship hours at Metropolitan Breastfeeding in the Fall of 2022. She has enjoyed serving families in the area and assisting women meet their breastfeeding goals. She has a desire to change the trajectory of breastfeeding rates locally and globally and to be part of the tribe that supports women in the childbearing years. Amy lives in Anne Arundel County with her husband and their two youngest children. Their oldest two have grown up and flown the coop!

Hello! I'm Lauren Wist the founder of Lactation with Lauren. I am a RN since 2009 at a large birthing hospital in Maryland and an IBCLC for the last 8 years and counting. I work in-patient in the hospital as a lactation consultant and am starting to provide care in families' homes to provide continued support. I love that each family I work with has their own story and their own journey. There are hard days and there are thriving days - I am honored to be part of each situation as we find the next right thing and reach personalized goals. When I am not using my IBCLC skills I love to spend time with my husband, 3 school aged kids, and young standard poodle. We enjoy visiting extended family members spread out along the East Coast, hiking in Patapsco State Park and traveling by airplane to new places when we have extra time together.

I strongly believe in creating a positive space to plan for, and experience, birth. My goal is to create a space of peace and confidence when it's time to meet your baby, and utilizing all of my life's knowledge and training to support your inherent wisdom to give birth. I am is known to be very empathetic. I LOVE naps and dark chocolate, and am a self-proclaimed introvert, despite what people think :). As a wife and mother of 4: ages 20, 16, and 6, I absolutely adores my children. I was called to become a Doula after experiencing 3 traumatic births, postpartum depression, and the death of one of my twin babies, all with little to no support. Through therapy, I realized I wanted to help other families so they do not have to experience these types of difficult things alone. I have an active mind and am always learning - a "forever student". I have trouble sitting still and love utilizing my many trainings and certifications to support my clients. I've been told, many times, I have a steady, calming demeanor, allowing my clients to relax in my presence and to feel held. ​When not supporting families in birth and postpartum, you can find me listening to my favorite audiobooks and podcasts, gardening, making art, and laughing at dad jokes!
