Will give birth at INOVA Alexandria hospital. This is our second child, the first was an unscheduled C-section after a failed induction. Aiming for a TOLAC in the hopes of achieving a vaginal birth, although I will have a C-section scheduled for week 41 in case I don't go into labor naturally. My C-section recovery was technical smooth with no complications last time, but I did not feel like I received enough information or support immediately following birth about how to manage my recovery and ultimately was unprepared and struggled at home the first few weeks. I am seeking immediate postpartum support regardless of how birth goes to smooth out the adjustment period when I leave the hospital, at least for a few weeks.

We are looking for a Doula who can work with us leading up to birth, be there for the birth to help advocate and support me, and we’re considering a doula for postpartum but it’s not as necessary. 1.
