Hi, I’m Marcela, a certified postpartum doula with several years of experience providing overnight newborn and postpartum support to families throughout the Peninsula and Silicon Valley. I’m passionate about helping new parents feel supported, rested, and confident during the transition into parenthood. My approach is calm, nurturing, and nonjudgmental. I believe every family is unique, and my role is to support their parenting choices while providing compassionate care for both baby and parents. My philosophy is simple: when we care for the baby, we also care for the parents. My goal is to create a peaceful, supportive environment where families feel cared for, respected, and empowered during those precious early weeks.

What to expect

As an overnight postpartum doula, my primary focus is providing attentive, responsive, nurturing, and safe care for your baby throughout the night, while allowing parents to get the restorative sleep they need. During my shift, I pay close attention to your baby’s individual cues and needs. I provide feeding, burping, diaper changes, soothing, swaddling, and help with settling the baby back to sleep. I monitor and document feeding patterns, sleep, diaper output, and any observations or concerns that may be important to share with the parents. I also pay close attention to changes in the baby’s behavior, comfort, and routine, helping parents recognize patterns and better understand their baby’s cues. I'm happy to assist with tracking weight and growth-related observations for the parents to discuss with their pediatrician. I support parents with feeding and pumping during my shift as needed. When the baby is sleeping, I rest as well and am fully present when the baby needs me. My role is focused on newborn care and parental support. Setting the baby up with a healthy routine is important to me so the family can take over at ease when our time together comes to an end. My goal is to provide peace of mind overnight, knowing your baby is being cared for while you have the opportunity to rest, recover, and recharge.
