Hi, I’m Melinda Mankins, founder of Parent Vortex, a birth and postpartum doula and Certified Lactation Educator. At Parent Vortex, I believe parenting is a balance of intuition and information. I help families navigate pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and the transition into parenthood through evidence-based education, practical support, and a mindset that focuses on confidence over fear. My approach is less “expert telling you what to do” and more trusted big sister walking beside you. I provide guidance, advocacy, and encouragement while helping parents tune out the noise, trust themselves, and make informed decisions that align with their values. My goal is for every family to feel supported, capable, and confident as they create the birth and postpartum experience they want.

Birth Support Package

Comprehensive support from pregnancy through postpartum. Includes: • Two prenatal visits (3 hours total) to discuss birth preferences, comfort measures, partner support, newborn feeding, and postpartum planning. • Continuous labor and birth support for up to 12 hours, including emotional support, comfort techniques, advocacy, and guidance throughout your birth experience. • Two postpartum visits (3 hours total) for recovery support, breastfeeding guidance, newborn care education, and help adjusting to life with your new baby. Designed to provide personalized support, trusted guidance, and peace of mind during one of life’s biggest transitions.

Postpartum Doula Support

Get an extra set of experienced hands during the fourth trimester. Whether you need breastfeeding guidance, newborn care support, help getting organized, a chance to rest, or simply someone in your corner, I’m here to help. Services include lactation support, baby care education, meal preparation, light household help, nursery organization, emotional support, and hands-on assistance so you can focus on healing and bonding with your baby. Leave each visit feeling more confident, more rested, and better supported.

What to expect
